The ongoing airfare war in Hawaii has hit a new low. Mesa Air Group’s new airline in Hawaii, Go!, started selling airline tickets for $1 on Monday. They were going to sell 1,000 tickets for this price but doubled it after their website crashed. I guess consumers love this or do they realize the type of service they get with these low fares? or is the cheapest ticket the only thing they worry about?, but how in the world does this help the airline industry and pilots? Mesa is known for getting away with being the cheapest operator out there for airlines.
This industry is nuts sometimes. I don’t always understand why? People in the offices always have the right ideas *shrugs*

John,
I guess while it might seem on the surface to be “good for competition,” it might be more out of desperation. People here are pretty loyal to Hawaiian and Aloha and might be beginning to see past the hype. If you can’t see the link below, basically what is says is that go!’s planes have only been two-third full — even with the cut-throat prices.
