A computer glitch at United Airlines stopped all departure flights system wide on Wednesday. The glitch lasted between 9 am and 11 am. United describe the computer glitch as a system outage, but nothing else has been released.
Flights were said to be delayed between one and two hours at Chicago Ohare, and I can only imagine how many people sat on the tarmac in Chicago or other United hubs while the glitch was fixed. I bet Ohare airport was an absolute mess today. Ohare is one place I would not want to be stuck while a computer glitch, weather, or another factor impacted airlines. It is one of the few airports I try to totally avoid!
