Rewarding Bloggers! - Do Follow
Today, I joined 'The D-list'. Here is a great way to describe what the do follow plugin for wordpress. Here is a post from SmartWealthyRich:
Some of you might already know, if you are using wordpress, that the default setting in wordpress adds a “rel=nofollow” for each and every link that is posted in the comments section of a post. For instance, if you were to reply to this very post, you wouldn’t get a link back (entering your name and url in the reply form) and the search engines would not consider the url you entered in the comment form or in the reply text.
Until now!
I decided to remove the nofollow attribute to reward the people that reply and comment to posts! Isn’t that nice?
So as of now, every time you reply to a post or participate in a discussion, you will get a link back! For as long as you enter your name, your e-mail and the url of your site, you will get a link back to your site! A linkback just for participating and adding to the discussions! ![]()
Keep commenting and participating in discussions!

Sounds cool! I never knew about the “nofollow” tag.
Yes indeeed! I didn’t know about it either until today! Glad I gave ya a little bit of info!
Good job john! I’m sure you’ll get more visitors and participation because of the do-follow tag.
Anyways, I have a friend who is taking up aviation too. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
Awesome :D.
I too have this plugin on my blog as well. It really does increase the comments.
Hi John,
Good to see that more and more people are learning about the nofollow tag and that they are removing it and rewarding the people who add quality content to their Websites.
Here’s a quick tip for you and all who read this post.
You see, John, I found your post because I use Google Alerts.
I monitor a LOT of keywords so that I can stay abreast of the most current information (I need to, for my client’s sake as I’m an SEO) and your post was in my list of links delivered in an eMail for the keyword [nofollow] tonight.
Keep up the good work, John.

PS John, in case you are wondering, the number before my name is a special code that I use to monitor the attributes and the behavior of the search engine’s algorithms.
awesome, welcome to the dofollow movement!
removing nofollow helped increase the numbers of comments on my blog, only thing to watch out for is people leaving 1 comment just to get a link and never come back, usually “nice post” or “great article” comments. Some people are commenting only on blogs that have removed the nofollow attribute, just gotta watch that. And of course make sure you have a good spam filter like akismet or spam karma, or you moderate the comments
Hey Guys! Thanks for the comments on the do follow. I appreciate the info, and I am sure others will do the same!
As far as spam goes, I haven’t seen it a whole lot yet..I do have akismet and a few have gotten threw and I have had to delete them right away.
Sounds cool!
Hello,
After I joined the Do Follow Movement and saw that there is a D-List, I wanted to be on that list. But, from what I saw, the list hasn’t been updated for a while. So, I decided to keep the list updated myself.
You can find it here: Do Follow List
Also, I wanted to let you know that your site is there too.
Regards,
Nicusor
This does sound cool… i may do this myself tommorow.
It has been implimented on my blog for some time now seems to attract people.
I did on mine too — but it is pretty new and not a website that too many people would be interested anyways — LOL
Lol well mine sort of people got interested in it then left it
So has being on the d list significantly increased your traffic?
