Today, the French President Nicolas Sarkozy open a new terminal at the Paris airport which will offer service to 8.5 million passengers a year and was designed to handle the new Airbus A380 Superjumbojet. The new Airbus A380 will be the largest passenger jet in the market today and is expected to enter service later this year if there are not anymore manufacturing disruptions (makes me feel safe to fly that thing). The A380 is capable of holding 555 seats! Woah!
The new terminal at Paris is 40 soccer field lengths and is able to handle 36 airplanes which could be 6 A380 superjumbos. The airport handled 56.6 million passengers last year while it’s capacity is listed at 47 million. The Aeroports de Paris is going to invest 2.7 million euros in the next 5 years to increase capacity by 20 million passengers! It is amazing how much the airport is growing! Just wait till they get 6 A380 unloading of passengers happening at the same time! Will you be able to walk through the terminal!? I think i’ll stay away!!!

Good for France =]
