Fly With Me!!

Today was back to work for myself. I didn’t see a whole of changes this morning through security. I did notice a few people were more tense. TSA has said they are going to be tightening security at airports across the country today, but the terror threat level is going to remain unchanged. Here is a short statement from US Airways I read today. I believe it was released yesterday after the attack. It sounds like where the truck that went into flames wasn’t too far from the US Airways ticket counter at Glasgow.

US Airways Employees Unhurt in Glasgow Incident
US Airways employees at our Glasgow station were not hurt today when a burning car ran into the airport doors not far from our ticket counters. Station Manager Karen Bisset reports that the three employees on duty were shaken up but otherwise okay. Our flight 729 had just departed Glasgow when the incident occurred. The flight landed safely in PHL at about 2 p.m. Eastern time. As a precaution, while security officials sort through the situation, we have canceled Flight 728 from PHL to Glasgow tonight (and the return, Flight 729, tomorrow). Reservations agents are contacting customers and we have instituted a flexible reaccommodation policy for customers.

I watched a news station report from Denver today. They interviewed people that just arrived at Denver International Airport from a couple European countries. A couple did say they noticed an increased security at checkpoints in different countries along with very frustrated passengers. All the countries and employees at the airports are going to be very extremely tense.

An aviation consultant interviewed on the news station said, ” Unless we are going to shut ourselves down, we are never going to be totally safe”. Do you agree with this statement? We know we cannot be afraid of these people. We have to continue to travel and show the terrorists we are not afraid! The world cannot shut down air travel. It is the biggest industry that makes the world communicate and do business!

Watch the news video below of passenger interviews at Denver Airport.

” Unless we are going to shut ourselves down, we are never going to be totally safe”.

that statement is totally incorrect. the goal of these muslim extremeist is that we completely convert and submit to their religious beliefs. and even then we still wouldn’t be safe because they kill their fellow muslims who they consider not to be extreme enough.

I knew that statement was going to develop a little bit of controversy! :)

What about the whack jobs(sorry if that is a bad way to word that) that would do something like this? I think the statement was to be more general as in we are always going to be unsafe no matter what we do. We have those risks in everyday life. If we worried about them everyday, we would never leave our bed, and even that we aren’t totally safe laying there!
