This morning, the crew of an American Airlines flight from Las Angeles diverted to New York JFK on its way to London. The crew of this flight made an excellent decision to divert the flight on the side of caution. One of the flight attendants noticed a man on her flight that was on the employee airport shuttle, and didn’t know if he had gone through proper security screening. The man didn’t have correct identification showing he was an employee. The concern of the flight attendant alerted the crew and decision was made to divert the flight to JFK in New York.
The passengers were not aware of the whole reason of aircraft diverting. They were told it was because of fuel reasons. The issues of telling the passengers in the back of the real reason would have created huge turmoil and panic. The crew noticed the situation early and took appropriate actions! Well done!
The middle eastern man supposedly was an employee and was taking a shuttle from a private flight. He is being questioned in New York and all the 230 passengers had to go back through security.
Although this created a huge headache for passengers, there is some good news out of this. You have crew members who are on alert and take appropriate actions to take care of might become a bad situation in the end. This all comes down to, “If you see something, speak up and tell someone!”

Glad airline security is getting to what it should be! It is a nightmare for passangers, but at the same time it saves your lives - or could. So im all for it.
If I was a passenger on that flight, I would wish that to be done too… I was flying to the USA last year the night they started prohibiting the liquids on passenger’s carry-on and I appreciated they took all our liquids/gels away.
Why is it important to note that the man was of Middle-Eastern descent? Is this really important to the story? No! It just helps fuel the fire that all Middle-Easterners are terrorists….you should choose your words more wisely.
Sorry Perplexed that it offended you. I was trying to report what the facts were of the news story from what I read from the major news stations. Not all middle eastern people are bad people. I’m sorry If I made it sound like that.
