If you love flying and the skies, sometimes people will do whatever they can to achieve their dream. The dream can be in a floating along in a chair by helium balloons.
A week ago, Kent Couch from Bend, Oregon settled in lawn chair, with some snacks, and a parachute with 105 large helium balloons. Nine hours later, he traveled 193 miles just about to Idaho in his flying contraption. This is what he told CNN:
“When you’re a little kid and you’re holding a helium balloon, it has to cross your mind,” Couch told the Bend Bulletin.
“When you’re laying in the grass on a summer day, and you see the clouds, you wish you could jump on them,” he said. “This is as close as you can come to jumping on them. It’s just like that.”
We can summarize this story from a quote by Leonardo DaVinci:
When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.
