This video is from an Icelandic TV station of the flight tests of the Airbus A380 during crosswind landings. It is truly unbelievable this thing can fly! You can see how much crab into the wind the pilots are entering into the controls and right before touch down they roll it out to land right on the centerline(we at least hope they do).
There is a shot in the video of a 737 right next to it. The 737 looks tiny!

That is a big plane! I’d love to fly with one of those once! I think the best airplane I have ever flew was an A320 from Brazil to Miami.
Planes are becoming too large. It’s funny this video is from Iceland because I fly Icelandair specifically because it’s a relatively small airline and the planes are not overly large or have too many people.
Thats a huge amount of crab on landing! And that plane is truely huge! Can’t wait to see one in the air.
Just look at those wheels! I hope they’re not an issue. The monster could’ve easily blew them during landing.
I wonder how many airports can accommodate them. I also wonder how the A380 does its approaches since it’s quite “heavy” to maneuver. I guess the one seen in the video is only the final approach?
