From the US Airways China website, Why US

Today, US Airways is one of two major U.S. airlines without direct access to China. Our proposed service to Beijing would be the first nonstop flight from Philadelphia to the capital of China and first competitive service to China for 39 other cities. We’d provide seamless service between our two biggest hubs, Philadelphia and Charlotte, to connect the commercial, industrial, scientific, academic and cultural communities of the two countries.

Our daily nonstop service between Philadelphia and Beijing would provide more choices to millions of customers, especially in the densely populated East Coast. Our hub in Philadelphia already serves as a convenient international gateway for customers throughout our network.

Over the last 2 years, we’ve built one of the nation’s most financially stable airlines. We’ve invested millions of dollars in our Philadelphia hub and improving our international service, especially in our business class service, Envoy. Service to China is a critical step to the success of our airline, keeping us competitive and bringing access to Asia to our customers.

US Airways is the only major US carrier without service Asia. Are you ready to fly nonstop to China with US Airways? Let’s hear what you have to say!

US Air needs to give up flight operations all together, they are incapable of operating the US based flights they schedule today.

Why would they want to fly to Bejing?
