The New X-plane!
An experimental jet that flew for the first time this past week could possibly lead to more fuel-efficient, quieter and higher-capacity aircraft. This new experimental plane resembles a huge flying wing.
The first flight of this jet was unmanned and was remotely controlled from the ground. It is a three engine jet that is 500 pounds and has a 21 foot wingspan. On it’s flight, it took off and climbed to an altitude of 7,500 feet and landed a half hour later. NASA said the X-48B resembles a flying wing, but the wing blends into a wide, flat and tailless fuselage.
The design of this new jet is suppose to provide more lift and less drag and reducing fuel consumption than the current circular designed airplanes we have today. The engines are mounted in the back to produce less noise in the cabin and on the ground.
Will this be the future of air travel? It takes a long time for change in the aviation field. I guess time will only tell!

Looks nice, like a stingray.
Very cool!
Wow! That is really an awesome jet!
It looks kind of like a stealth bomber.
Where’s the windows. Will need to have an atrium inside. An upside would be a restaurant on board.
A nice restaurant on board would be extremely nice! It would start feeling like a cruise ship!
Weird looking but interesting!
It is isnt it!
