A lady in Maryland was walking her dog in the park and noticed a big shiny metal object and thought it was material from a UFO spaceship. From the USA Today she quoted:
“I was like, ‘Oh my God! I saw aliens! Aliens are here!’ And I thought, ‘How exciting!”‘ Loewenstein said.
“We were all very lucky,” said Loewenstein, who made the discovery Saturday. “It’s so amazing that this piece of airplane didn’t fall onto the zillions of houses right behind it.”
The metal 25 pound part fell from a United Express Flight 7350 operated by Mesa Airlines. One of the doors that retract when you put the gear out before landing fell off the airplane. The FAA did say this part of the airplane is not necessary for landing which they are correct. The passengers and crew members on this flight were always safe.
The FAA is trying to figure out why this part of the plane fell off before it landed. It was a good thing it didn’t land on any cars, houses, or anyone in the park. It could have been very devastating. The reports don’t say what the airplane was that shed this part. Has anyone heard? It probably was a CRJ?

If I was in that park, it would have fell right on me - the Murphy Laws apply to me!
Yep would of fallen on me to! Sad isnt it lol.
Well I guess we just need to accept we are losers then Ross! LOL

It was a Mesa CRJ-700 (IAD-BDL) (according to Flightaware)
