Fly With Me!!

Yesterday, all the passengers on the China Airlines flight are extremely lucky. After landing and pulling into a parking spot, one of the engines exploded. All 165 evacuated from the Boeing 737-800.

These planes go through evacuation tests before they are certified. The qualification is that all the people from the aircraft be evacuated in 90 seconds. I am quite sure the evacuation after the explosion of the engine was pure chaos. The crew did their best and it showed once everyone was out of the airplane.

Flight Attendants are there strictly for your safety. Of course they have other duties as serving you food/drinks and making you comfortable during flight, but most people do not appreciate them. I hope everyone realizes this and treats all your flight attendants well!

I have been searching for the video of the evacuation. I found it this morning from a BBC news broadcast. This video shows the evacuation of all the people as the engine is blazing in flames. Very short moments after the last passenger was out and as the pilot jumps from the flight deck, the whole plane explodes. You will get to see it all on this video. It is absolutely amazing!

No… I mean on the video — didn’t I hear the guy say it took 10 minutes for them to open the emergency door and let the passengers get out of the plane?

Hi John! How are you? It has been a while. :) I like you’re optimized design for your site. Anyway, back to your video. I can’t believe it was caught on tape, the whole thing was really chaotic. The good thing was the passengers got out of the plane before it exploded. Nice find John. Cheers! :)

Where was the airport fire brigade during all of this? The reports state that the trouble in the engine started after landing. Surley the pilot would have noticed and reported the same. So the question is why did it take so long for the fire services to show up?

    Jason-

Emergency crews should be located at each airport. Now depending on the location of the fire trucks etc will depend on how soon they will get there…
