AviationReviews.com Interview with Matt
- How did you get interested in Aviation?
I became interested in aviation when I was growing up as a kid in
Dallas. My mother took me to see the Concorde, when it came into Dallas
and from that point on I was an aviation fan. After college and getting
my first big job (IBM) I was able to start taking flying lessons in
North Carolina (BUY), then suddenly out of the blue I was transferred
from North Carolina to Texas. I have 30+ hours and have flown in the
United States and Europe. I love just about everything related to
aviation. But have found a fondness to aviation technology.
- What gave you the ambition to develop avationreviews.com?
AviationReviews.com became a new site this year. Before
AviationReviews.com was started I had been running a website called
PalmFLYING.com, this site focused on aviation handheld software and
hardware reviews. As the site grew and more and more companies were
asking for non-hardware/software reviews, I realized that the site
needed to grow into a global review site for all aviation products and
services. So all of the software reviews on PalmFLYING.com were
migrated into the AviationReviews.com website.
- How long has your site been active?
PalmFLYING.com 6 years, AviationReviews.com 1 year.
- Do you have a pilot’s license and currently flying?
No license, but I like to go flying with a CFI and/or friend whenever
possible.
- What is your favorite airline? and airplane?
Favorite Airline = Southwest (their business model has done well for
them and they are simple & fun)
Favorite Airplane = B-1B something just very cool about its convertible
wings and design.
- What is your goal of aviationreviews.com?
To grow into the number one aviation review community site on the web.
I want people to post reviews and read review about products they are
interested in purchasing. I also want my Blog to become a news resource
used by many in the industry.
- Any miscellaneous information you would like to share about yourself?
I live in Austin, Texas currently married and spend most of working in
the IT field. I work some contract jobs, and am currently working on
developing three products, two aviation related and one not! I have
been a mobile internet user ever since the early years, and do
consulting work for the mobile web. I am currently the owner of
Production Software we focus on developing technological solutions for
pilots.
