Aircraft Engine Slings
Aircraft engine slings and hoists allow service technicians to safely and easily remove and install aircraft engines during maintenance operations. These specialized lifting devices are used to bear the weight of the aircraft engine and provide stability during lifting, reducing the risk of damage to the engine or injury to personnel.
Engine slings typically consist of multiple straps or cables that form a network of support around the aircraft engine, distributing the weight evenly across multiple attachment points. Aircraft engine hoists, also called engine lifts, are specifically designed to lift and maneuver an entire aircraft engine vertically from its mounting points, allowing for easier access and maintenance.
PJi offers a comprehensive selection of engine slings, engine hoists, and engine lifting straps that are capable of accommodating a wide range of aircraft, from business jets to commercial airliners.
Our friendly and knowledgeable aviation specialists will be happy to assist you in finding an aircraft engine sling or engine hoist to meet your specific aircraft maintenance needs. Call, email, or chat with us today!

Can engine slings be used for different types of aircraft engines?
Engine slings come in a variety of configurations to accommodate different engine types and sizes. However, it’s essential to ensure that the specific sling being used is compatible with the engine being lifted. Always refer to the manufacturer’s guidelines, the aircraft maintenance manual, or reach out to our aviation experts to verify compatibility with your aircraft engine.
Can engine slings be used for other purposes besides lifting engines?
Engine slings are specifically designed for lifting aircraft engines and should not be used for other purposes unless explicitly stated by the manufacturer. Using slings for unintended purposes can compromise safety and potentially damage equipment.
Can generic slings or rigging equipment be used instead of dedicated aircraft engine slings?
We highly recommend using dedicated engine slings specifically designed for lifting aircraft engines. Generic slings or rigging equipment may not provide the required level of support, balance, or protection for the aircraft engine during lifting operations.
