28V DC Power Supply for Aircraft
PJi offers a comprehensive range of 28V DC ground power units (GPUs) and 28V DC battery packs for powering your aircraft during ground operations.
The continuous output power provided by a 28V ground power unit is capable of starting an aircraft’s engine and auxiliary power unit (APU) and keeping the battery fully charged while the aircraft is on the ground.
Each 28V GPU can be operated via 3-phase or single-phase voltage in the hangar or powered by gas or diesel on the ramp.

What are 28V DC aircraft battery packs used for?
Ideal for a variety of aviation-related uses, 28V DC aircraft battery packs are primarily used to provide sufficient power to engage the starter motor and turn the engine, allowing the aircraft to start up properly.
Each aircraft power unit also serves as a backup power source during emergencies in which the aircraft's main power systems fail.
In addition, a 28-volt aircraft power supply can be used to power aviation equipment and instruments – such as radios and navigation systems – during ground operations.
What is the importance of GPU for aircraft?
An aircraft GPU (short for ground power unit) supplies clean power to an aircraft’s electrical systems while the plane is on the ground with its jet engines turned off. This allows ground crew to perform routine maintenance tasks and conduct pre-flight and post-flight operations.
A 28V DC ground power unit is typically used for general aviation aircraft, smaller corporate and private jets, and turboprop planes. Commercial airliners and larger business jets generally require 115V 400 Hz AC power.
Aircraft GPUs are available in multiple configurations to meet your specific requirements. Electrical-powered GPUs can be used in the hangar, while gas- or diesel-powered mobile units can be used on the ramp or in other remote locations.
