Eagle has been manufacturing the industry's most reliable tow tractors for over 40 years. Eagle manufacturers a wide range of towing and pushback tractors for aviation business and commercial operations, air cargo, military, and industrial industries.
Eagle tugs were designed specifically to move aircraft and feature low profile designs, direct front and rear hitch visibility, and an ergonomic operator compartment. All wheel drive (AWD) and unibody welded chassis also help provide an extremely smooth push back in all conditions and environments.
The biggest feature that sets Eagle tugs / tractors apart is the all wheel drive powertrain (AWD). AWD tugs provide better performance and traction on all surfaces and in all weather conditions. Eagle AWD tugs have equal weight distribution over all wheels that allow operators to pull or push aircraft with no loss in steering and performance.
The most powerful tugs in the industry also have the strongest warranty. The Eagle comprehensive 3âââ‰â¬Åyear/3,000âââ‰â¬Åhour warranty is backed by our tested customer service team and reliable product support. No other tow tractors on the market can support such a warranty, because Eagle aircraft tractors are backed by over 40 years of continuous improvements from customer feedback. Eagle tow tractors are a combination of performance, power and security you can count on for years to come.
AWD aircraft tractors weigh 1/3 less than RWD tractors and still achieve the same towing capacities.
AWD Tractors Have Equal Weight Distribution
With equal weight distribution, there is no loss of steering with AWD aircraft tractors as with RWD tractors which tend to be too light in the front. Proper weight distribution above a tow tractor's drive and steer wheels also assure proper, safe steering.
RWD tractors do not demonstrate the superior weight distribution of AWD over all drive wheels, which at times may result in a lifting of the front steered wheels, and a loss of traction. Pushing at angles beyond 45 degrees with RWD tractors results in a right or left skid challenge, caused by the doubled weight of the rear drive axle. Due to the fact that the rear drive axle generates all of the Tractive Effort (TE), it tends to overpower the steering.
