Warehouse Technician

Job Description
About the Role
The warehouse technician position is part of our logistics team to safely and efficiently receive parts and equipment into the warehouse, package equipment for shipment from small cardboard boxes to building wooden pallets, and work closely with all team members at PJi.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drives a culture of “Do It Safe, Do It Right the First Time” with actions and words daily.
  • Safely and efficiently performs assigned processes to meet the required daily logistics activities.
  • Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities, and inspect for damage.
  • Collaborates and communicates with sales, customer experience representatives, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products about information related to the shipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through regular physical counts.
  • Organize and label inventory items for easy access and retrieval
  • Resolve discrepancies and communicate any issues regarding inventory to the appropriate parties.
  • Handle return merchandise authorizations (RMA) efficiently and in compliance with company policies.
  • Evaluate returned items for potential restocking or disposal.
  • Successfully conducts and completes all assigned training.
  • Oversees hazardous material storage areas, hazardous material documentation, equipment, and procedures.     
  • Prepares hazardous material shipments, including proper labeling of all hazardous materials.
  • Understands and follows proper spills and emergency cleanup procedures.
  • Safely operate company vehicles and equipment as needed.
  • Build pallets and crates to safely transport equipment and materials to customers

Skills and Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, and Experience
  • High school diploma or higher
  • 1+ years of relevant industry experience in logistics operations
  • 1+ years of shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, inventory management, and import/export operations experience
  • Forklift Certification
  • Experience with tooling to build pallets and safely package equipment
  • Experience filing International Maritime Organization (IMO), Automated Export System (AES), and Importer Security Filing (ISF) documents
  • Proven record of processing shipments in accordance with DOT regulations and hazardous material labeling requirements
  • Experience in processing shipments using UPS and FedEx software
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides
  • Knowledge of 49 CFR, 15 CFR, Department of Transportation (DOT), International Air Transport Association (IATA), and International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) regulations preferred
  • Prior global shipping management/customs clearance experience is highly desirable
