Boeing 747: Aircraft Static Port Covers

Static ports are small, flush-mounted holes on an aircraft's fuselage that measure the ambient air pressure surrounding it. Aircraft rely on static ports to feed critical avionics instruments like altimeters and airspeed indicators with air pressure data at different altitudes, guaranteeing accurate readings during flight.

While static port covers for aircraft are usually constructed of durable materials for maximum protection and longevity, some lower-quality covers are made of more fragile materials that essentially stick onto the aircraft and cover the static port and nothing more.

A popular choice among PJi^® customers, Sesame Technologies' static port covers are made from malleable, light-gauge anodized aluminum that easily conforms to virtually any surface. The heavy-duty lever suction cups are designed to withstand up to 40 lbs. of removal force.

Some static port covers, like Sesame’s SPC-101, are universal and can fit a wide range of aircraft. Others, such as the SPC-102SP-H60 and the SPC-101SPF, are designed specifically for certain aircraft models.
