AeroShell Grease 33 is the world's most widely approved synthetic airframe grease, trusted by leading airlines, MROs, and maintenance facilities across the globe. This 396.9 lb (180 kg) drum provides bulk supply of MIL-PRF-23827C qualified lithium complex grease for high-volume aviation maintenance operations — delivering the same proven performance in a cost-effective format designed for line maintenance shops, Part 145 repair stations, and airline technical centers that rely on consistent, certified lubrication across their entire airframe fleet.
Why AeroShell Grease 33 Sets the Standard
Developed by Shell Aviation, AeroShell Grease 33 was the first grease to meet the stringent Boeing BMS 3-33 specification — and it remains the benchmark product in its class. Approved to MIL-PRF-23827C (Type I), BMS 3-33C, AIMS 09-06-002, DCSEA 354/A, and NATO Code G-354, Grease 33 is qualified for virtually every general-purpose airframe lubrication application on Boeing, Airbus, McDonnell Douglas, Lockheed, Embraer, Gulfstream, Canadair, BAe Regional Aircraft, and Fokker aircraft. It covers all but 9 of the 359 grease points on a Boeing 737 — allowing maintenance teams to simplify their grease inventory and eliminate the risk of misapplication that comes with managing multiple products.
Key Features and Performance Benefits
- Wide Temperature Performance: Effective from -73°C to +121°C (-99°F to +250°F), maintaining consistency and lubricating film at extreme altitude cold and landing gear heat cycles
- Superior Corrosion Protection: Outperforms MIL-PRF-81322G specification greases in saline corrosion tests — zero corrosion vs. visible corrosion on bearing race in industry comparison
- Excellent Water Resistance: Resists water washout in humid, coastal, and floatplane environments, maintaining lubricating film integrity
- Outstanding Oxidation Stability: Resists hardening, tackiness, and breakdown over extended service intervals and high-temperature applications
- Smaller Wear Scar: Demonstrated superior anti-wear performance compared to other MIL-spec greases in industry testing
- Lithium Complex Thickener: Delivers mechanical stability and controlled oil separation for long-life lubrication of bearings, hinges, and pivot assemblies
- Inventory Simplification: Replace multiple greases with one qualified universal product across Boeing, Airbus, and other OEM airframes

- Landing gear pivot pins, bushings, and actuator bearings
- General-purpose airframe lubrication points per Boeing, Airbus, and other OEM CMMs
- Applications where MIL-PRF-23827C, BMS 3-33C, or AIMS 09-06-002 is specified
- High-volume bulk dispensing in airline and MRO drum pump systems
Bulk Drum Format
The 396.9 lb (180 kg) drum is the optimal format for airline technical operations, large MRO facilities, and military maintenance depots that consume Grease 33 at high volume. Compatible with standard drum pump dispensing equipment, this bulk packaging lowers per-unit cost significantly compared to tubes or cans. CofC and FAA Form 8130-3 traceability documentation are available at no additional cost with every order.
Note: AeroShell Grease 33 contains synthetic oil and must not be used with incompatible seal materials. It is not approved for applications requiring molybdenum disulfide (see AeroShell Grease 64 for those applications), wheel bearings above 121°C, or specific Gulfstream applications as noted in the relevant aircraft maintenance manual. Always verify application suitability against the aircraft CMM or OEM maintenance documentation prior to use.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
AeroShell Grease 33 has a shelf life of 5 years from the date of manufacture when stored properly in original sealed containers, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight. Always verify the batch date on the drum label and consult the manufacturer's current SDS/TDS for storage requirements.
AeroShell Grease 33 is not approved for wheel bearing applications above 121°C or for certain Gulfstream wheel bearing applications. For wheel bearings and heavily loaded sliding applications requiring molybdenum disulfide, AeroShell Grease 64 (formerly Grease 33MS) is the appropriate product.
AeroShell Grease 33 is approved to MIL-PRF-23827C (Type I), Boeing BMS 3-33C, Airbus AIMS 09-06-002, DCSEA 354/A, and NATO Code G-354. It also exceeds SAE AMS 3052. These approvals cover the vast majority of general-purpose airframe lubrication requirements across major commercial and military aircraft types.
AeroShell Grease 33 has a useful operating temperature range of -73°C to +121°C (-99°F to +250°F). This wide range makes it suitable for airframe applications from cold-soak high-altitude environments down to ground operations in extreme heat.
