The Malabar 17500S-2 towable wheel and brake changer streamlines ramp maintenance by allowing one technician to safely handle wheel and brake changes. Designed with foam-filled tires and a durable towbar, this unit is built for reliable transport across maintenance areas – offering a significant upgrade over light-duty running gear. Its low-profile, rugged construction makes it suitable for everything from narrow-body aircraft with limited clearance to the largest wide-body models.
Equipped with an integral boom assembly, the 17500S-2 simplifies brake installation and removal from shipping containers, improving overall efficiency and reducing manual strain. The unit accommodates aircraft wheel assemblies from 32" to 56" in diameter and up to 22" in width. For brake service operations, the BC500P brake cradle (sold separately) is required.
The system includes a hydraulic hand pump, hydraulic cylinder, swivel-lock casters (with one caster equipped with a brake), towbar, inner and outer frames, boom, flow control valve, storage box, hold-down chain, and tie-down straps.
