The Tronair 15-7609-6000-FJ Portable Cabin Pressure Test Unit utilizes an external compressed air source (not included) to provide a controllable air supply for the pressurization of the aircraft cabin to conduct cabin leakage testing and outflow valve tests.

A minimum continuous air supply of 110 SCFM at 100 psi (6.9 bar) – with a maximum pressure of 150 psi – is required to operate this unit. It is compatible with shop air or a portable electric/diesel-driven high-volume air compressor, making it the most versatile cabin pressure tester on the market.

The Portable Cabin Pressure Test Unit comes in a suitcase-style carrying case offering increased mobility and deployment-readiness.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Question:
Does this unit come with adapters or any additional accessories?
Answer:

The Portable Cabin Pressure Test Unit includes adapter kits for the A-10, F-15, and F-16 aircraft, as well as an extra filter.

Asked December 28, 2023
Question:
How does this unit help identify leaks in the aircraft cabin?
Answer:

The Portable Cabin Pressure Test Unit supplies pressurized air to the aircraft cabin through a series of hoses and adapters. Sensors within the unit measure the pressure inside the cabin and compare it to the supplied pressure. If cabin pressure significantly drops over time, it indicates a leak. Technicians can use the pressure readings to narrow down the potential areas of the leak and conduct further inspections.

Asked September 6, 2024
Question:
How does the cabin pressure tester ensure a clean air supply?
Answer:

The tester uses an external compressed air supply that’s filtered through a filter separator with a 40-micron filter element to remove dirt, water, and oil before supplying regulated air to the aircraft cabin.

Asked September 6, 2024
Question:
How does the safety valve work on this unit?
Answer:

The safety valve is operated by a pilot signal supplied by an air switch, which senses actual cabin pressure. When the cabin pressure set point (13.25 to 13.75 psi) is reached, the air switch sends full-pressure pilot air to the safety valve, causing the valve to shift and stopping the flow of air to the aircraft. When cabin pressure drops below the set point, the safety valve will open, allowing air to flow into the cabin again.

Asked September 6, 2024
Question:
How does the cabin pressure tester handle pressure regulation?
Answer:

The Portable Cabin Pressure Test Unit uses a regulator and a pressure gauge to control the pressure of the air supplied to the aircraft cabin. Here’s how the pressure regulation process works:

  1. The unit receives compressed air from an external source, such as shop air or a portable air compressor.
  2. The regulator reduces the high-pressure air from the source to a lower, regulated pressure suitable for cabin pressurization.
  3. The regulator maintains a constant pressure level, ensuring that the cabin is pressurized to the correct level.
  4. The pressure gauge allows technicians to monitor the regulated pressure and make adjustments when needed.

By accurately regulating the air pressure supplied to the cabin, the portable cabin pressure tester helps ensure the safety and comfort of passengers during flight.
