For Lead Acid all BatteryMINDers are regulated and will not overcharge, no matter what amp selection you make. It is just a matter of how fast you need to charge the battery. If you know the battery is charged and in good shape use the 1 Amp setting.If you are charging a large deep cycle battery or more than one battery than use 2 Amp setting.You will probably use the wet/AGM/sealed selection most of the time. Use the Odyssey selection on all named Odyssey batteries at the 4 Amp setting.

This controlled progression prevents overcharging while ensuring the battery reaches optimal voltage. If the battery voltage is extremely low, the charger enters a Soft-Start phase to gently raise the voltage before full charging begins.
