Castrol Brayco 885 is a diester-based synthetic oil containing additives that provide corrosion protection, minimize galvanic corrosion, inhibit oxidation, and reduce foaming tendencies. It also has exceptionally low volatility and good viscosity-temperature characteristics.
Brayco 885 is intended for use in aircraft instruments or electronic equipment, in applications where an oil with a low evaporation rate is required for both high- and low-temperature operation, and where oxidation and corrosion resistance are desirable.
This low-volatility aviation lubricating oil is engineered to meet the requirements of MIL-PRF-6085D and is specified as a P-17 preservative under MIL-STD-2073-1 packaging specifications. It has an operating temperature range of -65ºF to 250ºF (-54ºC to 121ºC).
Brayco 885 may adversely affect certain paints and elastomers. Products other than those developed for diester-based fluids should be carefully tested for compatibility prior to use.
