Designed to operate in the presence of fuels, oxidizers, and deep-space vacuums, Braycote Micronic 601 EF exhibits unusually high load-carrying capabilities – as measured by the Four-Ball EP Test – and contains a rust and corrosion inhibitor for extra component protection.
Braycote Micronic 601 EF is used to lubricate gears, ball/roller bearings, electrical contacts, and O-rings. In addition, it is frequently used in space applications, including the Space Shuttle and satellites. Braycote Micronic 601 EF is also ideal for any application in which hostile chemicals or extreme environmental conditions would preclude the use of ordinary grease.
This high-performance lubricant is highly recommended for applications in which extreme temperatures and low vacuums are routine, such as cryogenic coolers, FLIR, laser optical systems, or hostile chemical environments. As a perfluorinated grease, it exhibits excellent shelf life due to its intrinsic inertness. Braycote Micronic 601 EF has a wide operating temperature range of -80°C to 204°C (-112°F to 400°F).
Braycote Micronic 601 EF is compatible with most commonly used materials, plastics, and elastomers. It may be adversely affected by Lewis acid catalysts such as aluminum chloride at elevated temperatures. Newly exposed rubbing surfaces of aluminum, magnesium, or titanium alloys may react with this product under certain conditions. Such systems should be thoroughly evaluated. Surfaces must be well-cleaned or organic rust inhibitors before applying the grease to ensure proper lubrication. This product is not recommended for use in applications under high vacuums with loads exceeding 100,000 psi for extended periods.
