David Clark 40990G-01 – H9930 Wireless Intercom System Headset-Mic
The David Clark H9930 / 40990G-01 is a headset-mic used with the David Clark Series 9900 wireless intercom system.
The Series 9900 Wireless Intercom System is the perfect solution for wireless intercom communications in demanding environments, such as airline/airport operations, fire/rescue applications, marine intercom, or any application requiring robust, reliable, and secure communications in and around high-noise areas.
The H9930 is a wireless, marine-grade version of our legacy noise-attenuating headsets, providing the same rugged dependability but designed for use with David Clark Wireless Belt Stations.
It is a dual-ear, over-the-head style communication headset incorporating a noise-canceling dynamic microphone, which is optimal for extreme noise environments up to 125 dB (above which a mic shield may be considered, see H9910).
With superlative performance and unsurpassed comfort features that enable ease of use over long work shifts, the H9930 is an ideal headset choice for use where high noise levels make communication difficult and effective hearing protection is desired.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
The David Clark H9930 wireless headset is designed for aircraft ground operations, including pushback, maintenance, and ramp communication. It enables hands-free, full-duplex communication between ground crew members and flight crews. This improves coordination during towing, servicing, and inspection tasks. By eliminating cables, it enhances mobility and safety in busy ramp environments.
The H9930 works as part of the David Clark Series 9900 Wireless Intercom System, connecting to a wireless belt station and gateway. This setup allows communication between multiple users and the aircraft cockpit. The system uses secure, DECT-based wireless technology for reliable signal transmission. It supports seamless communication without tethering operators to the aircraft.
The H9930 provides crisp, clear audio with a noise-canceling dynamic microphone designed for high-noise environments. It supports full-duplex communication, allowing users to talk and listen simultaneously. This improves efficiency during time-sensitive ground operations. The system also offers secure communication signals to prevent interference or interception.
The headset is engineered for extreme noise conditions up to approximately 125 dB, making it ideal for ramp and engine-area use. It features a certified Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 23 dB to help protect hearing. The combination of passive noise attenuation and a noise-canceling microphone ensures clear communication even in loud environments.
The H9930 includes comfort-gel ear seals and a multi-chamber headpad designed to reduce pressure points during long shifts. Its lightweight, over-the-head design improves wearability for extended operations. Adjustable components allow users to achieve a secure, personalized fit. These features help reduce fatigue for ground crew working long hours.
The headset features an M-2 dynamic noise-canceling microphone with water-resistant protection. It is designed to filter out background noise while capturing clear voice transmission. The flexible boom rotates up to 280 degrees for precise positioning. This ensures optimal communication clarity in demanding environments.
When paired with the Series 9900 system, the H9930 headset supports a working range of up to approximately 300 feet from the gateway. This range provides ample coverage for aircraft pushback, towing, and ramp operations. It allows operators to move freely without losing communication. This improves both efficiency and safety during ground handling.
The Series 9900 wireless intercom system supports multiple users, typically up to 4 per gateway. This enables coordinated communication between tug operators, wing walkers, and maintenance personnel. Multi-user capability improves teamwork and situational awareness. It is especially valuable during complex aircraft movements.
Yes, the H9930 is built with marine-grade stainless steel hardware and rugged components for durability. It is designed to resist corrosion and withstand exposure to harsh weather and ramp conditions. Its robust construction ensures long-term reliability in demanding aviation environments. This makes it suitable for both commercial and military ground operations.
The H9930 is commonly used in aircraft pushback operations, maintenance, inspection, and ground handling tasks. It is also suitable for deicing, fire/rescue, and other high-noise communication environments. Its wireless capability improves mobility and reduces trip hazards. This makes it a critical tool for safe and efficient airport operations.
