QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Safe operation of the Tronair 02-7818C0110 axle jack requires use on a hard, level surface and proper alignment with the aircraft jack pad. Operators should ensure the reservoir vent screw is open before lifting and never place hands between the aircraft and the jack pad during operation. The unit should only be used by trained personnel familiar with aircraft jacking procedures. Following these practices helps reduce the risk of injury and ensures stable lifting during maintenance.
The axle jack uses a combination of mechanical extension and hydraulic lift to allow fine height adjustments. Operators can first position the jack close to the aircraft using the mechanical extension, then apply controlled hydraulic pressure for precise lifting. This two-stage adjustment process improves positioning accuracy and stability. It is especially useful when working with tight clearances around landing gear components.
Routine maintenance includes checking hydraulic fluid levels, inspecting seals and O-rings, and ensuring all fasteners are secure before use. The manual recommends flushing old hydraulic fluid and replacing seals when servicing the jack to prevent leaks and performance issues. Regular inspection of the ram and pump components also helps identify wear early. Preventative maintenance ensures reliable operation and extends the jack’s service life.
Tronair recommends performing routine inspections every 30 days and conducting a load test at least every 12 months. The maintenance schedule includes checking for leaks, inspecting structural components, and verifying proper jack function under load. Annual load testing should not exceed the rated capacity plus 10%. These inspections help ensure continued safety and compliance with maintenance standards.
The jack is built with heavy-duty steel components and reinforced internal systems designed to withstand repeated use in demanding maintenance environments. Features such as high-pressure hydraulic components and durable seals help maintain performance under load. The unit is also designed to resist wear from exposure to hydraulic fluid and mechanical stress. This robust construction makes it suitable for long-term use in aviation maintenance operations.
Yes, the axle jack is fully serviceable using OEM replacement parts and seal kits. PJi provides replacement kits for components such as cylinder seals, pump assemblies, and internal parts. Using approved parts ensures proper fit and maintains the jack’s performance and safety standards. Regular servicing with OEM components helps extend the equipment's life.
The integrated hydraulic hand pump provides controlled lifting power, allowing operators to raise the aircraft gradually and safely. It operates at high pressure to deliver the force needed for lifting up to 20 tons while maintaining precision. The pump system includes internal check valves and seals to ensure consistent pressure during operation. This design helps provide smooth, reliable lifting performance in aircraft maintenance applications.
Tronair specifies that no modifications to the axle jack should be made without written approval. Unauthorized changes can void the warranty and may compromise safety and performance. Repairs should be performed only with approved parts and by qualified technicians. Following these guidelines ensures the equipment remains compliant with safety standards and operates as intended.
