Have any other questions? Just ask us! We're happy to help!
Are the units multitappable and compatible with multiple input voltages?
Tronair HPUs are not multitappable for 50 Hz or 60 Hz input voltages – you will need to confirm your facility's 3-phase input voltage before placing an order. If you have an existing unit and need to change its voltage configuration, procedures and parts are available to support that process. Please contact us with your unit's model number and serial number, and we'll coordinate with Tronair's engineering team to provide the correct steps.
Is there a reduction in GPM/PSI when using the units on 50 Hz?
Yes – operating on 50 Hz results in a 17% reduction in flow and pressure output compared to 60 Hz operation. This should be factored into your aircraft compatibility assessment when selecting a unit.
I already have aircraft couplers that came with our new airplane. Do I have to order them on a new unit?
No – aircraft couplers are not required to be included with a new HPU purchase. If you have existing couplers that meet your aircraft's requirements, simply let us know when requesting a quote and we'll remove them from the configuration.
I would like to use one hydraulic power unit to power both aircraft models we operate. Is it possible?
It depends on the specific hydraulic requirements of each aircraft model. In many cases, a single higher-capacity HPU can cover multiple aircraft types, but this requires careful review of each aircraft's pressure and flow specifications. Contact us with the aircraft models you operate, and we'll work through the compatibility with you.
I need filters for my unit. Can you help?
Yes – we offer a full range of Tronair HPU filters and would be glad to assist. Please provide your unit's model number and serial number so we can identify the correct filter specifications for your unit.
How do you ship these units?
All Tronair HPUs are shipped fully crated from our facility or the factory to protect against transit damage. Shipments are made via LTL freight carriers, including Estes Express, FedEx Freight, UPS Freight, and others, depending on your location. Please note that a forklift is required at your facility to unload the crate from the delivery truck upon arrival.
Getting a quote is straightforward. Contact us with the following information, and we'll handle the rest:
- The aircraft type(s) the HPU will be used on
- Your facility's 3-phase input voltage (in volts and Hz – either 50 Hz or 60 Hz)
Quotes – Please allow one to two business days for HPU build times and pricing after your request is submitted.
Trade-In – We accept quality used GSE as trade-in credit toward new Tronair equipment. Contact us with details about your current equipment, and we'll provide a trade-in assessment.
Used Equipment – View our current inventory of used HPUs on our Hydraulic Power Units & Couplers category page.
Below is a guide to obtaining your model #
