QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Question:
Can fuel quantity testers be used for multiple aircraft?
Answer:

This is determined by whether or not the aircraft runs on AC or DC power. The DC400A is a fuel quantity tester for DC aircraft. The DFQ40K is a fuel quantity test for AC aircraft. Some aircraft require specific cables and adapters. Please contact our aviation specialists to determine if you need any additional accessories.

Asked May 17, 2023
Question:
Will the DC400A fuel quantity tester work with an aircraft that runs on AC power?
Answer:

No. The DC400A is not recommended for fuel quantity testing on aircraft that run on AC power. This unit is specifically designed to support testing systems for aircraft that run on DC power.

If you are working with an aircraft that runs on AC power, you will need the Barfield DFQ40K test unit.

Question:
What adapters will be needed for King Airs ranging from new to as old as the early 1990s?
Answer:

The KingAir 90 series may have round connectors on the indicators unless they have been updated. If they have round connectors, they will need the 101-00831 adapter.

If the systems have been upgraded, they may already have the D connectors on the FQIS indicators, so no other adapter would be needed than the 101-00802 and 101-00814.
