The MCM DD2-5082-1A Reactive Load Bank is used to test the overall health and fitness of 400 Hz equipment and power sources. It does this by accurately mimicking the realistic load produced by an aircraft and simulating what the power source would experience.
A properly sized load bank is a valuable tool to maintain 400 Hz systems and equipment reliability. MCM's load banks are available as individual 54vVAR reactive and 72KW resistive units.
While load banks can be operated individually, the only true way to replicate a 400 Hz aircraft load is to utilize a reactive and resistive load bank in series. This is accomplished by connecting the load banks with the 12-ft. interconnecting aircraft cable (included).
