QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Question:
What is the Nav-Aids ADA320-845-2AC Air Data Accessories Kit?
Answer:

The Nav-Aids ADA320-845-2AC is a complete air data accessories kit designed to test the full pitot and static air data systems from source on the Airbus A318, A319, A320, and A321, in accordance with the relevant Airbus Maintenance Manual. It supports both standard pitot-static testing and RVSM (Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum) testing, and includes all the means to pre-test adapters and hose assemblies before fitting them to the aircraft. The kit accommodates two different pitot probe configurations – Thales and BF Goodrich – making it a versatile solution for operators and MRO shops maintaining the A320 family across different probe fitments.

Question:
Which aircraft is the ADA320-845-2AC compatible with?
Answer:

The ADA320-845-2AC is designed specifically for the Airbus A318, A319, A320, and A321 – the widely operated A320 family of narrow-body commercial aircraft. All four variants share a common airframe design and use compatible pitot probe configurations, allowing a single kit to cover the full family. For airlines and MRO providers maintaining mixed A320-family fleets, this kit eliminates the need for separate test solutions across each variant.

Asked April 15, 2026
Question:
What pitot probe configurations does the ADA320-845-2AC support?
Answer:

The kit includes dedicated pitot test adapters for two different probe types found on A320-family aircraft. The P99320M1-4C adapters are designed for Thales pitot probes (P/N 50620, C16195AA, and C16195BA), while the P75701-4C adapters are designed for the BF Goodrich probe (P/N 0851HL). Three adapters of each type are included, along with a corresponding set of three pre-test probes for each adapter type, covering all probe configurations in the A320 family fleet.

Asked April 15, 2026
Question:
How do the P99320M1-4C and P75701-4C pitot test adapters work?
Answer:

The P99320M1-4C is fitted to the nose of Thales pitot probes, and two pads on the adapter's extension arm automatically enclose the two pitot drain holes during installation – sealing the system for testing without additional steps. The P75701-4C is designed for the BF Goodrich 0851HL probe and, once installed, allows each air data system to be tested either separately or simultaneously. Three of each adapter are included to cover all pitot probe locations on the aircraft.

Question:
What is RVSM testing, and how does the ADA320-845-2AC support it?
Answer:

Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) is a regulatory standard that allows aircraft to fly with reduced vertical separation between flight levels in designated airspace, requiring highly accurate altimetry performance that must be verified through rigorous testing. The ADA320-845-2AC includes all necessary adapters and hose assemblies to perform an air data test in accordance with RVSM standards on the A318, A319, A320, and A321, as required by the relevant Airbus Maintenance Manual. This built-in RVSM capability makes the kit suitable for both routine pitot-static certification and the more stringent testing required for RVSM airspace approval.

Question:
How do the main and standby static port adapters work?
Answer:

The SS32092-4 Main Static Port Adapter provides the connecting seal to the two main static ports located on the aircraft fuselage, while the S32084M1-4 Standby Static Port Adapter seals the standby static port – two of each are included in the kit. Both adapter types attach to the fuselage via two threaded studs that must be carefully aligned and fastened to the aircraft's anchor nuts to achieve a proper seal. It is advisable to attach the test hose to the adapter fitting before installation on the aircraft to avoid disturbing the seal once the adapter is secured.

Asked April 15, 2026
Question:
How do the pitot and static hose assemblies work?
Answer:

The 320-6360 Pitot Test Hose Assembly and 320-4959 Static Test Hose Assembly each consist of multiple hose branches, allowing the air data test set to be connected to one, two, or all three pitot or static adapters, depending on the test configuration required. Double-acting quick disconnect fittings are incorporated into each hose branch, enabling fast, tool-free test configuration changes without tools. This modular hose design gives technicians the flexibility to perform targeted single-system checks or full simultaneous testing of all pitot and static channels.

Question:
How should LF5050 lubricating fluid be applied in this kit?
Answer:

LF5050 is the only approved lubricant for use with the ADA320-845-2AC. Nav-Aids explicitly warns that using any other substance may have adverse effects that could contribute to a flight safety hazard. Only a very small amount is needed: apply one to two drops to form a thin film on the surface of the applicable pre-test probe, then insert the probe into the adapter with a slight clockwise/counterclockwise rotation during the pre-test stage, before connecting to the aircraft probes. This lubricates the adapter's interior glands, prolongs seal life, and ensures smooth installation of the adapter onto the aircraft probe.

Asked April 15, 2026
Question:
Which seal kits are included, and how are they used?
Answer:

The ADA320-845-2AC includes three types of spare seals to cover all adapter types in the kit. The SK320 Seal Kit provides replacement seals for the P99320M1-4C Thales pitot adapters; the SK701 Seal Kit covers the P75701-4C BF Goodrich pitot adapters; and the 084M1-229 seals are for the static port adapters. Seals should be inspected before each use and replaced at the first sign of wear or leakage – a compromised seal will prevent the system from holding test pressure and can produce unreliable results.

Asked April 15, 2026
Question:
How is the ADA320-845-2AC kit stored and transported?
Answer:

All kit components are housed in a NANUK 963 resin carrying case lined with custom dunnage that holds each adapter, hose assembly, and accessory in a dedicated position for organized, protected storage and transport. The NANUK case is a rugged, professional-grade equipment case well suited to the demanding environments of commercial MRO operations, providing reliable protection against impact and contamination between test events. The included manual (444-320-845-2AC) contains outline drawings, parts lists, and pitot and static hose assembly schematics for field reference.
