Nav-Aids ERJ170/190-946 Air Data Accessories Kit – Embraer ERJ 170/190 & Lineage 1000

The Nav-Aids ERJ170/190-946 Air Data Accessories Kit is a comprehensive pitot-static test solution designed for maintenance of the Embraer ERJ 170 and ERJ 190 aircraft. It contains all the test adapters and hose assemblies required to connect the ADTS-GSE144 Air Data Test Set to the aircraft's air data system probes (ADSP), enabling testing of both the main and standby air data systems in accordance with the relevant Embraer Aircraft Maintenance Manual. Beyond standard pitot-static testing, the kit also supports RVSM testing, cabin differential pressure valve testing, and cabin pressure altimetric module (CPAM) testing – making it one of the most versatile air data test kits available for the ERJ 170/190 platform.

The ERJ170/190-946 is specifically engineered for the Embraer ERJ 170 and ERJ 190 regional jet aircraft. Both airframes use Goodrich air data system probes (P/N 0857 CU), and the kit's APA97632M1-3-4-4 test adapters have been designed to fit these probes precisely. Maintenance teams operating either aircraft type will find that a single kit covers their full air data testing needs across both platforms.

The ERJ170/190-946 kit supports a broad range of air data system tests beyond standard pitot-static checks. It includes all the equipment needed to test to the Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) standards, verify the cabin differential pressure valve, and test the cabin pressure altimetric module (CPAM) – all in accordance with the Embraer Aircraft Maintenance Manual. This all-in-one capability makes the kit well-suited for scheduled maintenance events and pre-return-to-service checks that require comprehensive air data system certification.

The APA97632M1-3-4-4 test adapters are designed to fit Goodrich air data system probes (P/N 0857 CU) on the Embraer ERJ 170 and 190. Four adapters are included in the kit – one for each ADSP location on the aircraft. It is recommended to connect the required test hoses to the adapter fittings before installing the adapters onto the probes. Technicians should note that the drain hole on the ADSP is automatically covered and sealed during adapter installation.

The PT421-632 Pre-Test Probe is used to verify the integrity of the ADSP test adapters, hose assemblies, and the ADTS before any connection to the aircraft is made. When inserted into a test adapter, it simulates the air data system probe, allowing technicians to confirm that the entire test circuit is leak-free and functioning correctly prior to aircraft connection. Four pre-test probes are included in the kit, one for each adapter, and they also play a key role in lubricant distribution when applying LF5050 fluid before installation.

The ERJ 170 and 190 feature multiple static channels – PS1, PS2, and PS3 – and the kit includes dedicated hose assemblies for each. The ERJ-PS1/3 RVSM Static Test Hose Assembly connects to the PS1 and PS3 static inlets, while the ERJ-PS2 RVSM hose assembly connects to the PS2 inlets. For ADTS units with a single-channel static outlet, the ERJ-PS1/3 RVSM hose features a quick-disconnect fitting that allows the PS2 hose to be connected, accommodating different test set configurations as required by the Embraer Maintenance Manual. All three static hose assemblies feature self-sealing, double-acting quick-disconnect fittings that enable flexible test configurations.

The S34146-4 Static Test Adapter attaches to the static port located at the rear fuselage of the aircraft to facilitate cabin differential pressure valve testing. Before installation, the pressure seal on the adapter should be retracted slightly using the large knurled nut, and it is advisable to attach the ERJ-CDP test hose to the adapter fitting before mounting it on the aircraft. The ERJ-CDP hose then connects the ADTS-GSE144 static outlet to the cabin differential pressure valve in the aft fuselage, as specified in the Embraer Aircraft Maintenance Manual.

The cabin pressure altimetric module (CPAM) is a pressurization control component located in the forward left fuselage of the ERJ 170 and 190. The CPAM-532 Test Hose and Module Connector Assembly included in the kit is designed to connect the ADTS-GSE144 static outlet directly to the CPAM, enabling functional testing of the module in accordance with the Embraer Aircraft Maintenance Manual. This dedicated assembly ensures technicians have everything needed to certify the performance of the cabin pressurization system during a comprehensive air data test event.

The SK7632 Seal Kit provides spare seals for the ADSP test adapters, and replacement follows a defined procedure. The internal seals are accessed by removing the circlip located inside the adapter body using a pin tool inserted into the small hole just aft of the compression nut; the spacers and seals are then removed, replaced in the same sequence, and the circlip reinstalled. For the two static port pick-ups on each ADSP adapter, seals are replaced by pulling the old seal from its seat, cleaning off residue, and reinstalling the new seal using 3M CA8 sealant – with adapter integrity confirmed afterward using the pre-test probe. A Seal Exchange Tool Kit (421-ASTK) is available separately from PJi for technicians who regularly perform this work.

All kit components are housed in a custom aluminum carrying case (129XD-ERJ170/190-946) lined with formed dunnage that secures and organizes adapters, hose assemblies, and accessories during storage and transport. Four 532-8971DB hose suspension arms are also included and used during testing to suspend hose assemblies and relieve their weight from the test adapters, reducing stress on both the adapters and the aircraft probes during test operations. The included manual (444-ERJ170/190-946) provides outline drawings, parts lists, and pitot-static hose assembly schematics for field reference.
