SkyMark 9X9-SM-V - Phosphate Ester Pre-saturated Cleaning Wipe, 9" x 9"
SkyMark is a high-performance wipe used to clean and lubricate hydraulic components that use phosphate ester-based hydraulic fluids, such as Skydrol and HyJet. This patent-pending wipe is suitable for use on seals made with butyl rubber or ethylene-propylene elastomers.
Crafted from 100% recyclable, biodegradable, lint-free, pharmacautical-grade cotton, SkyMark effectively removes particles as small as 5 microns, leaving behind a pristine, polished surface.
Since each wipe is presaturated with phosphate ester hydraulic fluid, there's no need to open cans or spray or pour fluid, increasing safety for maintenance personnel.
Cost-effective, simple to use, and safer than traditional methods, SkyMark is compatible with both Skydrol and HyJet Type IV and Type V fluids.

No! SkyMark wipes should never be used on aircraft landing gear struts. The phosphate ester-based fluid used in SkyMark can react with certain metals and materials. In particular, the O-rings within the landing gear struts can be adversely affected by this fluid. Prolonged exposure or direct contact can lead to corrosion, degradation, or other forms of damage.
Landing gear struts typically use mineral-based hydraulic fluids, such as MIL-PRF-5606 and MIL-PRF-83282. StrutWipe cleaning wipes are used to clean and lubricate hydraulic components that use these fluids.
Hydraulic actuators, which control the extension and retraction of the landing gear, are usually powered by phosphate ester-based fluids like Skydrol and HyJet. SkyMark is ideal for cleaning and lubricating these components.
SkyMark wipes are remarkably easy to use. Simply remove the presaturated phosphate ester wipe from the pouch to clean and lubricate hydraulic components. When you're done, use the same package to easily dispose of the wipe.
