QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
The two-stage telescoping ram design allows the Tronair 02-7842C0100 to achieve a high lifting range while maintaining a relatively compact closed height. This helps technicians position the aircraft tripod jack more easily under aircraft with limited clearance before lifting begins. The extended lifting capability also supports maintenance tasks on larger commercial and business aircraft that require additional jacking height.
The quick-action mechanical extension helps reduce setup time by allowing technicians to quickly position the jack close to the aircraft jacking point before hydraulic lifting starts. This minimizes unnecessary pump strokes and speeds up aircraft lifting procedures during inspections, tire changes, and landing gear servicing. Faster positioning can improve overall maintenance workflow in busy hangar environments.
Tronair specifically instructs operators to raise and lower all aircraft jacks simultaneously to help keep the aircraft level throughout the procedure. Uneven lifting can place unnecessary stress on the airframe, landing gear, or structural jacking points. Proper synchronized lifting practices help improve safety and reduce the risk of aircraft damage during maintenance.
The mechanical ram locknuts serve as user-operated safety devices that help prevent unintended jack lowering while the aircraft is elevated. Tronair emphasizes that the locknuts should always be lowered as the aircraft is raised to maintain proper load support. This added mechanical locking protection provides an extra layer of security beyond hydraulic pressure alone.
Tronair recommends storing the jack with the ram fully lowered and covering the unit to protect it from moisture, Skydrol, dirt, and cleaning chemicals. Routine extension and retraction every 90 days during inactive periods also helps exercise seals and reduce internal corrosion. Proper storage and preventative maintenance can help maximize service life and hydraulic reliability.
Annual load testing helps confirm that the aircraft jack continues operating safely within its rated lifting capacity. Tronair recommends testing at 105% to 110% of rated capacity to verify structural and hydraulic performance. Regular testing can help maintenance teams identify wear or component issues before they affect aircraft servicing operations.
The heavy-duty steel construction is designed to withstand the demands of repeated aircraft lifting operations in commercial aviation maintenance environments. Steel components help provide structural durability and resistance to deformation during high-load applications. This rugged construction makes the jack well-suited for long-term use in maintenance facilities supporting business, regional, and commercial aircraft fleets.
The jack combines high lifting capacity, extended lifting height, mechanical safety systems, and durable construction into a maintenance-focused design. Features such as retractable wheels, quick mechanical extension, and optional pneumatic operation help technicians work more efficiently during aircraft servicing. Its CE compliance and OEM-style engineering also support use in professional aviation maintenance operations worldwide.
