QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
The Tronair 02A7827C0110 is OEM-approved for several popular Cessna Citation aircraft, including the Citation Sovereign 680, Citation X 750, Citation Latitude 680A, and Citation Longitude 700. This makes it a dependable aircraft tripod jack for FBOs, MRO facilities, and corporate flight departments servicing midsize and super-midsize business jets. Its 10,000-lb lifting capacity and two-stage hydraulic design help technicians safely perform inspections, tire changes, and landing gear maintenance. OEM approval also helps ensure compatibility with approved aircraft jacking procedures.
The two-stage jack configuration allows the Tronair 02A7827C0110 to achieve a maximum lifting height of over 70” while maintaining controlled lifting performance. The combination of a 9” mechanical extension and 34” hydraulic extension gives technicians added flexibility when positioning the jack beneath aircraft jacking points. This design also helps reduce setup time during maintenance operations involving different aircraft configurations. Controlled stage progression further improves lifting stability and operator confidence.
The ram protection ring helps ensure the locking pin is properly installed during aircraft lifting procedures. Tronair specifically warns that incorrect pin placement can lead to premature jack failure below certified load ratings. The manual also notes that damaged or deformed ram protection rings should never be used. This feature adds an extra layer of safety during critical aircraft maintenance operations.
Simultaneous lifting helps keep the aircraft level and properly balanced throughout the jacking process. Uneven lifting can place excessive stress on the airframe, landing gear, or fuselage structure. Tronair instructs operators to raise and lower all jacks together, and to use tail or nose stands when required for additional stability. Following proper aircraft jacking procedures helps improve technician safety and protects valuable aircraft components.
The factory-installed air pump helps speed up the initial lifting process by reducing the amount of manual pumping required. This can improve workflow efficiency in busy hangars where aircraft are frequently repositioned or serviced. The air-assisted system also helps reduce technician fatigue during repeated maintenance operations. Tronair’s hydraulic schematic shows how the pneumatic and manual hydraulic systems work together to provide smooth lifting performance.
Routine maintenance is critical for maintaining safe lifting performance and extending jack longevity. Tronair recommends checking hydraulic fluid levels before each use, lubricating casters every three months, and performing annual capacity testing at 105% to 110% of rated load. For low-use environments, the manufacturer also advises fully extending and retracting the jack every 90 days to exercise seals and prevent internal corrosion. These preventative maintenance steps help reduce downtime and support long-term reliability.
The hold-to-run air valve requires the operator to actively engage the control lever during air-powered lifting operations. Once the lever is released, upward ram movement immediately stops. This helps provide better operator control and reduces the risk of unintended aircraft movement during maintenance procedures. It also supports safer operation in accordance with aviation ground support equipment best practices.
MIL-PRF-5606 hydraulic fluid is commonly used in aviation maintenance equipment because it delivers reliable performance across a broad operating temperature range. The fluid helps provide smooth hydraulic operation while protecting seals, cylinders, and internal components from excessive wear. Tronair also references proper handling and maintenance procedures for aviation-approved hydraulic fluid throughout the service manual. Using the correct hydraulic fluid helps preserve lifting performance and long-term jack reliability.
Tronair specifies that only OEM replacement parts should be used with the 02A7827C0110 aircraft jack. Unauthorized modifications or non-approved components can void warranties and potentially compromise lifting safety or rated capacity. OEM parts are designed to meet the original hydraulic, structural, and safety specifications of the jack assembly. This helps maintenance facilities maintain compliance with aviation industry standards and manufacturer recommendations.
The tripod configuration provides a stable lifting platform while allowing technicians to position the jack more precisely beneath aircraft jacking points. Heavy-duty wheels help improve mobility around hangars and maintenance ramps, especially when repositioning equipment between aircraft. The compact design also helps technicians work more efficiently in tighter maintenance spaces common in business aviation environments. Improved maneuverability can help reduce setup time and streamline ground support operations.
