The Tronair 03A4007-0000 is an aircraft tail stand used to stabilize a plane by its fuselage during maintenance, whose maximum load does not exceed the rated capacity of the tail stand. This unit is specifically intended for use on select Cessna aircraft, including the Bravo, Citation Encore 560, I 500, I/SP 501, II 550, SII, Ultra 560, and V.

The tail stand is equipped with an audible alarm that alerts the operator when a force of 100 to 150 lbs (45.4 to 68 kg) is applied to the top of the cradle. The unit attached to the tail stand sounds a loud 85 dB pulsating alarm until the force is reduced.

Works perfectly for our needs. We are a charter company Verijet using the SF50 Vision Jets and these tail stands are a perfect fit cradling the tail portion of the aircraft perfectly. We love using it and the alarm option is a great safety feature.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Question:
What is the primary purpose of the Tronair 03A4007-0000 tail stand with alarm?
Answer:

The Tronair 03A4007-0000 tail stand with alarm is designed to stabilize an aircraft by supporting the fuselage during maintenance procedures. It is used after the aircraft has been properly jacked and positioned, helping prevent tail tipping or instability. The integrated alarm system adds an additional safety layer by alerting technicians if excessive force is applied to the cradle.

Asked February 24, 2026
Question:
How does the alarm system improve aircraft maintenance safety?
Answer:

The integrated alarm activates when a force of 100 to 150 pounds is applied to the padded cradle, producing an 85 dB pulsating alert. This warning notifies technicians that corrective adjustments are needed before structural stress or instability occurs. The alarm continues sounding until the load is reduced, reinforcing safe load management practices during maintenance.

Asked February 24, 2026
Question:
What are the height and extension capabilities of this tail stand?
Answer:

The tail stand has a minimum closed height of 32.5” and a maximum height of 50.5”, with an 18” mechanical extension. This adjustment range allows technicians to accommodate a range of aircraft tail heights. Proper pin placement is critical to maintaining rated performance and stability.

Asked February 24, 2026
Question:
What type of battery does the alarm require?
Answer:

The alarm operates on a 9-volt battery and is designed to use only alkaline batteries. A low battery condition is indicated by a “chirp” every 20 to 30 seconds. Following battery recommendations ensures reliable alarm activation during maintenance operations.

Asked February 24, 2026
Question:
How can technicians test the alarm system before use?
Answer:

The alarm can be tested by depressing the plunger switch for at least two seconds to confirm the electronic circuit and horn function. A separate test button verifies proper battery installation. Additionally, a load test can be performed by applying 100 to 150 pounds of force to confirm activation under real-use conditions.

Asked February 24, 2026
Question:
What safety precautions must be followed during operation?
Answer:

The tail stand must be installed only after the aircraft has been raised to the working position. The extension pin must be fully inserted through both the inner and outer tubes, with the ball lock correctly positioned outside the tube. Operators must avoid pinch points near the extension tube and limit switch assembly, and always wear safety glasses during operation.

Asked February 24, 2026
Question:
Who is qualified to operate or service this tail stand?
Answer:

The 03A4007-0000 tail stand is intended for use by skilled, trained aircraft maintenance technicians. Operators must be familiar with the aircraft manufacturer’s jacking and stabilization procedures. Maintenance and troubleshooting should only be performed by qualified personnel.

Asked February 24, 2026
Question:
What routine inspections are recommended?
Answer:

The manual recommends a visual inspection every 90 days, including welds, the cradle assembly, the extension pin, and the extension tube holes. Any defects should result in immediate removal from service until repairs are completed. Regular inspection supports long-term structural integrity and operational safety.

Asked February 24, 2026
Question:
How should the tail stand be stored when not in use?
Answer:

The tail stand should be stored in a clean, dry environment with the extension fully lowered. Recommended storage temperatures range from 40°F to 100°F (4°C to 38 °C). Proper storage prevents corrosion and protects alarm components.

Asked February 24, 2026
Question:
What warranty and compliance standards apply to this model?
Answer:

The Tronair 03A4007-0000 tail stand includes a one-year warranty covering manufacturing or material defects. The product complies with relevant European Community guidelines, including the 2006/42/EC and EN ISO 12100:2010 standards. Modifications without written approval from Tronair void the warranty and may compromise safety.
