Works great! We purchased about a month ago and have used it to break the locks on landing gear. So far we have had no issues. Shipping was fast and packaged well.

The unit looked well built, but I had to send it back for warranty before getting to use it. The supply fitting on the reservoir was leaking. Apparently it sounds like it may be a known issue.

Unit is made by Tronair and arrived in good condition. It contains a 0-5000 PSI Gauge which requires calibration. Unit came assembled in box which was well packed.

Operation of the Component Pressure tester is easy to learn. The manual is straight forward. The unit is lightweight and portable.

This unit has a filter that will require periodic replacing.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Question:
What is the primary function of the Tronair 06-4005-3611 Component Pressure Test Unit?
Answer:

The Tronair 06-4005-3611 Component Pressure Test Unit is designed to provide a clean, pressurized fluid source for filling reservoirs, bleeding brakes, and testing aircraft hydraulic components. It allows technicians to safely transfer and maintain hydraulic pressure during system servicing. This model supports phosphate ester fluids, making it ideal for aircraft that use Skydrol or similar hydraulic fluids.

Asked October 8, 2025
Question:
What is the maximum operating pressure for this unit?
Answer:

The unit can deliver a maximum pressure of 3,000 PSIG (206.8 bar), as indicated in the specifications. This high-pressure capability allows it to handle demanding hydraulic component testing and maintenance procedures safely and effectively.

Asked October 8, 2025
Question:
How is pressure monitored during testing?
Answer:

A certified 5,000 PSI pressure gauge is integrated into the system for precise monitoring of hydraulic pressure. This gauge allows technicians to read pressure accurately during bleeding, filling, or system testing operations, ensuring safe and consistent results.

Asked October 8, 2025
Question:
How is the unit prepared for first-time use?
Answer:

The test unit ships fully assembled and requires only minimal setup. Before operation, technicians must install the appropriate fluid label, fill the reservoir with clean, compatible hydraulic fluid, and purge air from the system by actuating the manual pump. This process ensures proper fluid circulation and pressure readiness.

Asked October 8, 2025
Question:
What maintenance does the 06-4005-3611 require?
Answer:

Routine maintenance includes replacing the filter element and inspecting the pump seal. The non-bypass filter should be changed at least once a year – or sooner if higher handle force indicates clogging. Additionally, technicians should regularly inspect O-rings and seals to prevent leaks and maintain system pressure integrity.

Asked October 8, 2025
Question:
How does the manual pump system operate?
Answer:

The integrated hand pump allows for manual hydraulic pressure generation and control. Technicians close the pump release screw, actuate the pump handle to transfer fluid, and use the isolation valve to maintain pressure. Pressure can then be safely released through the shut-off valve when testing is complete.

Asked October 8, 2025
Question:
What safety measures should be followed when using this unit?
Answer:

Operators should always verify fluid compatibility, secure hose connections, and close all valves before pressurizing the system. Overpressurization or use with the wrong fluid type can damage aircraft components. Tronair emphasizes that only trained personnel should operate this equipment to ensure safe, compliant maintenance.

Asked October 8, 2025
Question:
How often should the pressure gauge be calibrated?
Answer:

The pressure gauge should be recalibrated according to your facility’s quality system or at regular intervals, typically once a year. Tronair provides a Certificate of Calibration for each gauge and recommends periodic reverification to ensure testing accuracy is maintained.

Asked October 8, 2025
Question:
Can the unit be modified or repaired with non-Tronair parts?
Answer:

No. The manual explicitly states that any modification or use of non-OEM parts voids the warranty and releases Tronair from liability. Only Tronair-authorized replacement components should be used to maintain certification, performance, and safety compliance.

Asked October 8, 2025
Question:
What warranty coverage does Tronair provide for this unit?
Answer:

Tronair warrants the 06-4005-3611 to be free from manufacturing or material defects for one year from the date of shipment. Replacement parts carry a 90-day warranty. The warranty covers repair or replacement of defective components but excludes wear items and damage caused by unauthorized modification or misuse.

Asked October 8, 2025
Question:
Is this unit CE marked?
Answer:

Yes. This component pressure test unit is CE marked, indicating that it meets all applicable European Union health, safety, and environmental protection standards. This certification ensures the unit’s safe and reliable performance in compliance with international regulations, making it suitable for use in both U.S. and global aircraft maintenance operations.

Asked October 8, 2025
Question:
