The Tronair 99-9045-9000 TronLock Aircraft Security Wheel Chock is a theft-deterrent device used on the ground to secure the front (nose) wheel (or main, if desired and able) and prevent the aircraft from rolling forward under power. The TronLock is to be used in conjunction with the aircraft onboard security systems to deter would-be thieves.

The TronLock meets TSA Aircraft Repair Station Security regulation 49 CFR Part 1544, designed to improve the security of domestic and foreign aircraft. This regulation states, in part: "When not attended, prevent the unauthorized operation of all large aircraft capable of flight."

Standard Features

Usage

The Tronair TronLock is designed to fit 10" to 26" (25.4" to 66") diameter nose (or main) wheels, up to 8.75" (22.2 cm) wide. The TronLock is not intended to be used in place of wheel chocks. Rather, it's meant to act as a highly secure wheel boot in case of attempted theft.

Specifications

Installation

  1. After the aircraft has been stopped and prevented from rolling by the use of wheel chocks under wheels that are not to be secured, slide the TronLock around the tire. Install the TronLock from the front of the tire to be secured (arms with holes first).
  2. With the TronLock sliding firmly against the tire, slide the lock axle through the holes closest to the rear of the tire. There are numerous holes for varying diameters – use the holes that will fit tightest to the tire.
  3. Secure the lock axle with the shackleless lock.

Removal

  1. Remove the lock from the unit and remove the lock axle.
  2. Slide the TronLock out from the front of the tire.
  3. Reinstall the lock axle and lock for future use.
