The Tronair Dash 8-400 Aircraft Tail Stand (03A5829C0000) is used to support the airplane by its fuselage during maintenance, with a maximum load that does not exceed the rated capacity of the tail stand.
The tail stand is equipped with an alarm system that alerts the operator when a force of 100 to 150 lbs (45.4 to 68 kg) is applied to the top of the cradle. The unit attached to the tail stand sounds a loud 85 dB pulsating alarm until the force is reduced.
