24,000 BTU 2-Ton Aircraft Air Conditioning Unit: Designed for use with Citation, King Air, and Hawker cabin class aircraft. Other commercial aircraft applications are possible along with helicopters.

The FoxAir unit provides a convenient and reliable portable solution for pre-conditioning ambient air in an aircraft cabin, cockpit, equipment bay, fuselage, or other confined environments. The base FoxAir unit provides a fan-only mode and a cooling mode. A heating mode is offered as an add-on option on all models. In addition to cooling, heating, and air movement, when operating in the cooling mode, the unit will reduce ambient humidity by removing moisture from the air. The moisture is dissipated through the unit's drain system as water.

Description of the FoxAir 60

The FoxAir consists of a packaged air conditioning unit, modified for portability and use in an aircraft hangar environment, providing pre-conditioned air via a 10-foot delivery hose. The unit is packaged for durability and portability, with minimal maintenance requirements. It utilizes a sealed R410A refrigeration system, and there are no user-serviceable components; furthermore, the unit cannot be recharged with refrigerant by the user. Any failure of the sealed refrigerant system must be returned to FoxCart for repair or referred to an air conditioning repair professional.

When operating in the cooling mode, FoxAir removes moisture from the ambient air. An integral drain located in the center of the unit's bottom offers the option to drain excess water directly onto the ground underneath the FoxAir unit or to a remote drain via the optional drain kit. The unit also features a unique "wicking" feature that allows the drain to be capped (as shipped from the factory), and excess water is then "wicked" up via the condenser fan blade. This mode also provides additional cooling capacity and is useful in extremely hot environments.

FoxAir units without the remote control option are factory-set to the highest cooling setting, and no adjustments are available. The main power breaker switch on the front panel powers the unit ON and OFF. FoxAir units supplied with IR Remote Control functionality utilize an electronic control module that memorizes the last setting of the unit when switching the unit off via the main power breaker switch on the front panel, or during a power failure. When the unit is switched back on or power is restored, it will begin operating in the same mode as before power was removed. Temperature, mode, timer, and fan speed functions are displayed on and controlled via the handheld IR remote control. The base FoxAir 60/50/B unit is a cooling-only unit. An optional heating function adds an electric heating element that provides up to 12,000 BTU of heat.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Question:
Does the FoxAir 60 come with a rack for storing the hose?
Answer:

No, the FoxAir 60 air conditioning and heating unit does not have a rack for storing the hose. However, the unit does come with a handle on the back that works great for holding the input cable, and there are prongs on top that are meant to hold and support the hoses.

Asked July 24, 2023
Question:
If the unit is going to be used in the heat and sun, what kind of delivery hose should I purchase?
Answer:

It is recommended that, if the unit is going to be used outside and in the heat, you equip the unit with the reinforced, insulated air delivery hose (DHI-1025).

Asked July 24, 2023
Question:
How does the delivery hose connect the FoxAir 60 unit to the aircraft?
Answer:

The FoxAir 60 is a free-flow unit, meaning that it can either go in through the door or into the baggage area.

Asked July 24, 2023
Question:
What is the NEMA # for the electrical plug on the FoxAir 60?
Answer:

The FoxAir 60 comes pigtailed so that the unit can be wired to fit your hangar. The type (and NEMA #) of your plug will depend on the outlets you have in your hangar.

Asked July 24, 2023
Question:
For outdoor use, would a drain hose be necessary or can the FoxAir 60 unit drain out onto the ground?
Answer:

The unit can be drained out onto the ground if you prefer. Having a drain hose is an option, not a requirement.

Asked July 24, 2023
Question:
What is the part number for the "Y" coupling for connecting two 6" air delivery hoses directly to the FoxAir unit?
Answer:

We no longer sell the Y coupler for 6” ducts. Testing showed some back pressure issues with the sizing going from 10” to 6” ducts. We do offer a Y coupling that goes from 10” to 8”.

Asked November 17, 2023
Question:
What is the part number for the replacement IR remote control for this unit?
Answer:

406-0001-192 is the replacement IR remote control for this air conditioning unit.

Asked July 1, 2024
