QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
No. The FoxAir MAX LP operates at 60 Hz only, and it cannot be configured for 50 Hz electrical systems. This ensures proper performance of the sealed refrigeration system, compressor, and electrical components. If you require 50 Hz compatibility for international operations, please contact us for suitable alternative aircraft air conditioning units.
The correct replacement air filter for the FoxAir MAX LP is 406-0060-050. The unit uses two 20" × 25" × 2" filters. Replacing both filters at the appropriate intervals helps maintain optimal airflow, protects internal components, and ensures consistent cooling performance.
The FoxAir MAX LP delivers 48,000 BTU of refrigerated air, making it a powerful 4-ton aircraft air conditioning unit. This output cools aircraft cabins quickly, even in hot ramp conditions, improving comfort for crews and passengers. The unit is designed for pre-cooling, maintenance operations, and protection of heat-sensitive avionics.
Yes. The unit can be equipped with an optional 15 kW electric heater. This makes the FoxAir MAX LP a year-round climate control solution, allowing for warm-air delivery during cold-weather operations and hangar maintenance.
The FoxAir MAX LP is built for business jets, turboprops, and light commuter aircraft that require dependable pre-cooling on the ground. Its 4-ton capacity is ideal for smaller to mid-sized cabins where quick temperature reduction is essential. Operators in corporate aviation, FBOs, and regional fleets utilize the unit to support rapid turnarounds and enhanced ground comfort.
The unit features a quick-connect collar for rapid attachment of a 10-inch, steel-reinforced air delivery hose. This system enables the efficient direction of cool air into the aircraft cabin. With an airflow rating of 1,570 CFM, the FoxAir MAX LP provides steady, powerful circulation that rapidly reduces cabin temperature.
The FoxAir MAX LP is mounted on a low-profile trolley. This design reduces the overall height of the unit, making it easier to position under aircraft wings, navigate tight ramp spaces, or approach hangar doors. The improved maneuverability enhances operational flexibility and reduces the chance of GSE-to-airframe contact.
The trolley-mounted chassis and compact footprint make the FoxAir MAX LP easy to move across ramps, hangars, and maintenance bays. Ground crews can quickly position the unit, even in crowded service areas. Its low noise level of 78 dBA also helps maintain a safer, more comfortable work environment.
This unit uses R-410A refrigerant, with a charge quantity of 111 ounces. R-410A is known for efficient heat transfer and stable performance in high-output cooling systems. The sealed refrigerant system also minimizes maintenance and improves long-term reliability.
The FoxAir MAX LP can operate in ambient temperatures as low as 35°F (1.67°C). This capability ensures dependable cooling performance in cooler climates and during early morning ramp conditions. Operators who add the optional heater gain additional flexibility in cold-weather environments.
The FoxAir MAX LP features a 21-gallon Vu-Thru condensation storage tank with a drain valve. This large-capacity tank allows the unit to operate longer without manual drainage, reducing interruptions during maintenance or turnarounds. The clear Vu-Thru design will enable technicians to easily monitor water levels.
The unit provides a strong 1,600 CFM airflow. This high-volume circulation ensures fast cabin cooling, uniform air distribution, and efficient delivery through extended hose runs when needed. Strong airflow is essential for conditioning the cabin quickly during pre-flight.
Available options include the 15 kW heater, multiple air-delivery hose lengths (15, 25, or 50 feet), drain hose kits, freeze-protection switch, long-run input power cables (50 to 150 feet), and a 120V convenience outlet. These accessories help tailor the FoxAir MAX LP to specific ramp environments and aircraft configurations. Operators can customize the unit to meet seasonal needs or address facility constraints.
Using the FoxAir MAX LP to cool the aircraft on the ground reduces APU runtime, fuel consumption, and mechanical wear. This helps extend the life of the aircraft APU while lowering operational costs. For operators with frequent turnarounds, the savings can be substantial over time, making ground-based air conditioning a wise maintenance investment.
