QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
The Nav-Aids ADAG5-834HT Air Data Accessories Kit is a complete pitot-static testing solution designed to test the full pitot and static air data system from the source on Gulfstream G5 and G500 aircraft. It includes all the adapters, hose assemblies, control consoles, and support components needed to connect a pneumatic signal generator to the aircraft's air data system probes – as well as the means to pre-test all adapters and hoses before they are fitted to the aircraft. Two manuals are included with the kit: one specific to the ADAG5-834HT configuration and one covering G24 RVSM testing procedures.
The ADAG5-834HT is specifically engineered for the Gulfstream G5 and G500 aircraft, both of which use the 0856TK pitot-static probe configuration located on the nose. The kit's pitot and dual static test adapters, hose assemblies, and control consoles are all designed and configured to work within the testing requirements for these airframes. Maintenance teams operating either aircraft type will find that a single kit covers their full pitot-static air data testing needs across both platforms.
The PSS99451HT-3-4-4 is designed to fit the 0856TK pitot-static probes located on the nose of the Gulfstream G5 and G500, and four adapters are included to cover all probe locations on the aircraft. Once installed, each adapter isolates the pitot and static systems, allowing them to be tested separately or simultaneously – giving technicians the flexibility to conduct targeted fault isolation or full air data system certification as required. The adapter glands should be lubricated with a small amount of LF5050 lubricating fluid before installation to ensure smooth seating onto the pitot probe.
The PT421-451 Pre-Test Probe is used to verify the integrity of the pitot and dual static test adapters, hose assemblies, and test sets before any connection to the aircraft is made. Installed in place of the pitot and dual static probe, it simulates the probe interface – allowing technicians to confirm the entire test circuit is leak-free and functioning correctly prior to aircraft connection. Four pre-test probes are included, one for each adapter, and this pre-test step is a recommended best practice before every test event.
The 421-G5-P4 Pitot System Control Console and 421-G5-ST8 Static System Control Console are the central hubs of the ADAG5-834HT test setup, containing all the inlets and outlets required to connect the pneumatic signal generator to the aircraft's adapters and sensing system. All inlets are clearly identified on a photo-etched panel, and the hoses connected to both consoles and adapters are color-coded at each end for quick, accurate system identification. Technicians should ensure that all required control valves are open before beginning testing to avoid pressure surges that could damage the aircraft's air data system.
The G5-20-3P Pitot Test Hose Assembly – four included – connects from the designated pitot outlet on the control console to the pitot inlet of each adapter. The G5-20-4S Static Test Hose Assembly – eight included – attaches to the static positions on the pitot and dual static adapters as designated on the control console, accommodating the multiple static channel connections required on the G5 and G500. Together, these assemblies route pneumatic pressure from the signal generator through the control consoles and into the aircraft's air data system probes for testing.
The 757-211 Inlet Hose Assembly – two included – connects the static and pitot outlets of the pneumatic signal generator to the top connections on the control consoles, forming the primary pneumatic input link between the test set and the ADAG5-834HT system. The A352-3-4 Reducer Hose Assembly is a supplementary component that increases the hose assembly's flexibility at the test set connection point, accommodating different test unit configurations and making the overall setup more adaptable in the field.
The LF5050 Lubricating Fluid is used to lubricate the glands of the PSS99451HT pitot and dual static test adapters before installation. A small amount should be applied to the glands before fitting the adapter to the pitot probe – this reduces friction during installation and ensures the adapter seats smoothly and securely without damaging the sealing surfaces. Proper lubrication is an important step in maintaining test accuracy and prolonging the service life of the adapters and their internal seals.
The SK451HT Seal Kit provides two complete sets of spare seals for the PSS99451HT-3-4-4 pitot and dual static test adapters, both sets stowed in the kit case for immediate access. Seals should be inspected before each use and replaced whenever there is any evidence of wear, cracking, or leakage during pre-testing – a compromised seal will prevent the test circuit from holding pressure and produce unreliable results. Having two spare sets on hand ensures that seal failures can be addressed on the spot without interrupting a scheduled maintenance event.
All components of the ADAG5-834HT – including the four test adapters, twelve hose assemblies, two control consoles, pre-test probes, lubricating fluid, seal kits, and manuals – are enclosed in a dedicated case assembly designed to store and protect the equipment during transport and between test events. Keeping all components organized and properly stowed in the case helps prevent damage to hose fittings, adapter seals, and console connections, ensuring the kit is ready for use when needed. The included color-coded hose assemblies also make repacking straightforward – each hose can be quickly identified and returned to the correct position in the case.
