What size of cable is installed on this ground power unit?
All new units come standard with a 100' AC input cable. The cable size is a 6/3 cable. We do not install plugs on the end of the cables as every hangar is always wired different. This is standard practice on all ground power units. When you receive the unit, you will need to have a qualified electrician install a plug that will work with your hangar electrical box on the input cable.
What is the main difference between this single phase unit and a Power King 3 phase input voltage unit?
The single phase units provide 600 amps continuous and 1200 max amps for starting while the 3 phase input voltage units provide 1000 amps continuous and 2400 amps max.
What is the purpose of this unit?
The Power King single phase ground power unit provides 28V DC aircraft power while operating on single phase input voltage in the hangar. This unit provides power to the aircraft for operators and maintenance technicians to service the aircraft, update the GPS or any onboard software updates, aircraft lights, and assist the aircraft during starts. This unit can only provide up to 1200 amps max. If you need more power, please consider the 3 phase input voltage unit.
What is the warranty on the new units?
The manufacturer guarantees the Power King to be free from defective material and workmanship for three (3) years from delivery to customer, with the exception of paint, wheels and power cords.
The warranty does not apply to deficiencies caused by improper use, handling, operation or maintenance. Modifications or unauthorized repairs are considered improper use. Warranty does not apply to any damage due to operation in which the manufacturer instructions are not followed. (Warranty terms subject to change. Consult the operating manual for up to date warranty information)
Will this unit work on international 50 HZ input voltage?
Yes, this unit can be wired and operated on either 60 HZ or 50 HZ input voltage. At the time of ordering a unit, please advise if you will be using it on 50 HZ.
