QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
The Start Pac 2300QC 24V Portable Aircraft Battery Pack is designed to start turbine or piston engines up to 1,500 horsepower. It is commonly used in a wide range of general aviation, business jet, military, and ground vehicle applications that require 24V DC starting power. Because aircraft electrical configurations vary, it’s important to confirm compatibility before purchase. Our aviation specialists can help ensure the 2300QC is properly matched to your aircraft or ground equipment.
Yes, the Start Pac 2300QC is engineered specifically for engine starting applications. It is not intended to function as a dedicated aircraft battery charger. Its high peak current output is optimized to deliver reliable 24V DC starting power for turbine and piston engines. Using it as intended helps protect both the aircraft's electrical system and the portable battery pack.
Under normal operating conditions, the 2300QC can provide approximately 4 to 6 engine starts per full charge. The exact number will vary depending on engine size, temperature, and electrical load. Its 2,300 peak amps support consistent turbine engine aircraft and piston aircraft starts. Monitoring charge levels between uses helps maximize performance.
The recharge time typically ranges from about 30 minutes to 3 hours, depending on the depth of discharge. Built-in universal smart float chargers accept 90V to 240V AC at 50/60 Hz for global compatibility. Faster recharge capability reduces aircraft downtime between starts. This makes the 2300QC well-suited for both hangar and field operations.
Yes, the built-in charger system accepts a wide AC input range of 90V to 240V AC at 50/60 Hz. This allows operators to recharge the Start Pac 2300QC virtually anywhere in the world without the need for additional voltage converters. Global charging compatibility is especially valuable for international operators and military deployments. It ensures consistent performance across different regions.
When connected to AC power, the 2300QC can supply a limited DC output for maintenance-related functions without depleting the internal batteries. This adds flexibility during ground servicing. However, it remains a starting unit and should not replace a dedicated aircraft battery charger. Proper application preserves battery longevity and system reliability.
The 2300QC uses sealed, valve-regulated lead-acid batteries designed for high amperage output. These non-spillable, maintenance-free batteries are cold-resistant and can operate in multiple positions. Their sealed design enhances safety during ramp operations. The batteries are also recyclable, supporting responsible disposal practices.
The patented Quick Change battery system allows operators to replace the battery pack in less than a minute. This significantly reduces downtime and eliminates the need to send the entire portable aircraft starter in for service. Field-replaceable battery capability is especially valuable during AOG situations. It helps maintain operational readiness with minimal disruption.
The aluminum case features a durable, low-VOC powder-coat finish that resists wear and harsh weather conditions. This protective coating helps prevent corrosion and cosmetic damage during daily use. Its rugged construction supports heavy-duty aviation and military environments. Durability is essential for long-term ground power reliability.
The sealed, non-hazardous battery design supports safer handling and transport compared to traditional flooded battery systems. Its compact, air-portable configuration makes it practical for mobile operations. Operators should always confirm current shipping and airline regulations before transport. Proper packaging and documentation are recommended for compliance.
The Start Pac 2300QC supports multiple connector configurations, including red 3-pin aircraft connectors, CMC connectors, and NATO plugs. Heavy-duty aircraft cables are available in different lengths, and customized cables can also be provided. Selecting the proper connector ensures safe, efficient aircraft engine starting. Compatibility verification is recommended before ordering.
Yes, a dedicated trolley is available to improve maneuverability on the ramp or in the hangar. Operators can choose pneumatic or solid/flat-free rear wheel options depending on their operating environment. A trolley setup reduces lifting strain and enhances mobility. This is particularly useful in busy maintenance facilities.
Replacement 24V chargers, dual charger sets, battery boxes, connectors, cables, and other components are available for the 2300QC. Providing the unit’s serial number ensures the correct replacement parts are supplied. Access to spare parts helps extend the service life of the aircraft ground power unit. This protects your investment over time.
