START PAC 53105 – 28V DC Single-Phase Portable Power Supply – 105A Continuous
It has been replaced by Start Pac 53105M
The START PAC 53105 is a 28.5-volt continuous DC power supply when plugged into a 220-volt single-phase AC power. This unit will deliver full 105-amp DC output, but will not provide enough current for engine starting. Therefore, this unit is designed for maintenance and to power up various functions such as inverters, avionics, GPS, etc.
Onboard air conditioning systems are high-draw systems that usually require a minimum of 175A.
This unit is NOT designed for engine starting or battery charging.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Yes! The Start Pac 53105 is designed to function as a continuous power supply and can be used while plugged in and charging. This is especially useful for aircraft technicians performing extended maintenance or software updates that require uninterrupted electrical power. The built-in safety features ensure stable output without damaging sensitive avionics.
The Start Pac 53105 is compatible with most 24V and 28V aircraft electrical systems, including business jets, turboprops, and helicopters. The unit supports both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft that require external DC power for avionics testing, updates, or cabin power checks. Always consult your aircraft’s maintenance manual to confirm compatibility before use.
Yes! The Start Pac 53105 delivers clean, filtered DC power that is safe for even the most sensitive avionics systems. It is ideal for powering up cockpits, running pre-flight checks, and updating onboard software without risk of electrical spikes. The stable output protects instruments and electronics from voltage irregularities.
Weighing approximately 12 lbs (5.4 kg), the Start Pac 53105 is considered highly portable given its power output. It features a compact, wheeled design with a handle, making it easy for technicians to move around hangars or ramps. The unit is also built with a rugged, all-weather housing to handle outdoor conditions.
The Start Pac 53105 portable power supply allows technicians to run aircraft systems without consuming fuel or engine cycles, saving operational costs and reducing wear on onboard components. It also provides a stable power source for loading software, testing instruments, or operating systems during scheduled maintenance. This increases efficiency and safety while preserving aircraft resources.
As a continuous DC power supply, the Start Pac 53105 can deliver 105 amps indefinitely as long as it remains plugged into an AC source. This makes it ideal for long-duration maintenance tasks or training simulations that require sustained electrical operation. Its industrial-grade components are designed to handle prolonged use without overheating.
The Start Pac 53105 power supply is low-maintenance but should be inspected periodically for cable wear, connector integrity, and airflow obstructions. Cleaning the exterior and checking for any signs of overheating or damage will help ensure optimal performance. Replacement parts and accessories are readily available for long-term support.
