Safety Features
- Ram Lock Nut: Prevents the lowering of the ram. The ram lock nut must be lowered as the aircraft is being lifted. Ram lock nuts must be kept within 2" of the stop while raising the aircraft.
- Hold-to-Run Air Valve: Requires the operator to hold the air valve lever to raise the ram using the air pump. Releasing the air valve lever stops the upward movement of the ram.
- Lock Nut Retention Ring: Prevents the lock nut from being unscrewed from the second stage.
- Pressure Relief Valve: Prevents overload during raising operations.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
The Tronair 02A7837C0110 is OEM-approved for Embraer ERJ-135, ERJ-140, ERJ-145, Legacy 600, and Legacy 650 aircraft, making it a reliable aircraft tripod jack for both regional airline and corporate aviation applications. Its 10,000-lb lifting capacity supports common maintenance procedures such as landing gear servicing, inspections, and tire replacement. Because it is specifically approved for these aircraft platforms, maintenance teams can confidently integrate the jack into manufacturer-recommended maintenance procedures. OEM-approved aircraft jacks also help support operational consistency and safety compliance.
The two-stage hydraulic ram system allows the jack to achieve a maximum lifting height of more than 81” while maintaining a stable footprint during operation. This extended lifting range provides flexibility when servicing aircraft with higher jacking points or varying maintenance configurations. The hydraulic stages extend sequentially from the largest diameter to the smallest for improved lifting stability and control. The staged extension process helps ensure smooth and predictable aircraft lifting performance.
The factory-installed Haskel pneumatic pump helps reduce manual effort and speeds up initial aircraft lifting operations. Pneumatic-driven hydraulic pumps are commonly used in aviation maintenance environments because they deliver efficient hydraulic pressure generation with precise operator control. The integrated air-assisted system allows technicians to quickly position the jack under load before making fine adjustments with the manual hydraulic controls. This combination of pneumatic and manual operation can improve productivity in busy hangar environments.
Tronair instructs operators to raise and lower all aircraft jacks simultaneously to help keep the aircraft level throughout maintenance operations. Uneven lifting can place additional stress on aircraft structures, jacking points, and landing gear assemblies. The manual also recommends using tail or nose stands when applicable to improve aircraft stability during servicing. Following proper lifting procedures helps protect both technicians and aircraft during maintenance tasks.
The ram protection ring helps secure the locking pin system and supports proper placement of the mechanical extension during lifting operations. Tronair specifically warns against operating the jack if the ram protection ring is damaged, deformed, or missing. The manual also includes detailed illustrations showing correct and incorrect locking pin placement to help technicians avoid unsafe lifting conditions. This added safeguard helps reduce the risk of premature jack failure during aircraft maintenance.
Routine preventative maintenance is essential to maintaining hydraulic jack performance and reliability. Tronair recommends checking hydraulic fluid levels before each use, lubricating casters every three months, and performing annual capacity testing at 105% to 110% of rated load. For low-usage or stored jacks, the manufacturer advises fully extending and retracting the ram every 90 days to help protect seals and prevent corrosion inside the cylinder walls. Following these maintenance procedures can help minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
The translucent hydraulic fluid reservoir allows technicians to visually monitor hydraulic fluid levels more easily during inspections and servicing. Quick visual verification can help reduce maintenance time while ensuring the hydraulic system remains properly filled for safe operation. Maintaining proper fluid levels is important for consistent lifting performance and long-term protection of hydraulic components. The manual also specifies maintaining the fluid level approximately 1.5” below the reservoir vent.
The hold-to-run air valve requires the operator to actively maintain pressure on the air control lever while raising the jack pneumatically. Releasing the lever immediately stops ram movement, helping improve control during aircraft lifting procedures. This safety-focused design helps reduce the chance of unintended upward movement while technicians position the aircraft or adjust jack placement. Improved control is especially valuable when working around sensitive aircraft structures and jacking points.
The 02A7837C0110 is designed to operate from -4°F to 122°F, making it suitable for a variety of hangar and ramp environments. This broad operating range helps maintenance crews continue servicing aircraft in both cold-weather and high-temperature conditions. Reliable hydraulic performance across changing environmental conditions is especially important for regional airline and corporate flight operations. The specified operating range also helps support year-round maintenance readiness.
The Tronair 02A7837C0110 is CE marked and complies with European machinery safety requirements for hydraulic aircraft jacks. The declaration of conformity confirms compliance with recognized standards related to safety, design, and operational performance. CE-marked aircraft maintenance equipment can provide added confidence for operators working in international aviation environments or multinational maintenance operations. Compliance with recognized safety standards also reinforces the jack’s suitability for professional aviation ground support applications.
