QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
The National Stock Number (NSN) for the Viavi IFR4000 base unit is 6625-01-516-4656. If the ELT option is installed, the NSN is 6625-01-553-1956.
The IFR4000 is the base unit, and the IFR4000-EMB is the Embraer configuration of the IFR4000. Although these units have all the same testing capabilities, they are not recommended for the same aircraft applications.
It is recommended that the IFR4000 test set be calibrated every 12 months. Every unit we provide will come supplied with an up-to-date calibration certificate at the time of shipment.
When your IFR4000 unit is due to be calibrated, reach out to us and we can assist you in getting your device recalibrated.
Unfortunately, yes. The IFR4000 Navigation/Communications Test Set is being discontinued. However, it will be replaced with Viavi's own AVX-10-NAV model. The new AVX-10K will have all of the same capabilities as the IFR4000 and will even have configurations to perform IFR6000 capabilities as well.
If you are looking to upgrade your avionics testing equipment or have further questions about these latest technologies, our aviation specialists will be happy to assist you.
Yes! If you already have an IFR4000 test unit, you can purchase the additional ELT software option separately and upload it directly to your unit.
No. The standard IFR4000 unit does not come already equipped with the ELT software option installed. ELT is an add-on option that you would need along with the IFR4000 unit itself.
If you're interested in the ELT option for your IFR4000 Test Set, please let our sales team know and we will be more than happy to include this in your quote.
Yes! The IFR4000 is capable of signal generation for Marker Beacon testing, as well as a range of other features, including VOR, Localizer, Glidescope, and many more!
The official calibration interval starts on the date of first use. If your newly purchased IFR4000 unit has an outdated calibration certificate, you can adjust it to match the actual first-use date.
