The Tronair 08T4049-0013 Engine Compressor Washer is designed to clean jet and turboprop engine compressors by spraying demineralized water or approved cleaning solution through the engine inlet. It helps remove built-up dirt, oil, and salt residues that can reduce engine performance and fuel efficiency. The unit’s two 12-gallon tanks allow separate use of cleaning and rinse fluids, ensuring complete and controlled washing cycles.
When charged to 125 PSI (8.6 bar), the air tanks provide sufficient volume to empty both fluid tanks. The nozzle mounted on the panel may be installed into the wand to regulate the fluid flow to the approximate rate as indicated.
Included with this unit, the PT6 Fuel Nozzle Cleaning Kit provides a controlled air/solution pulse circuit and can also supply compressed air to purge the fuel nozzle system and the engine compressor washer unit of any fluids, acting as a system dryer.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
The built-in fuel nozzle cleaner enables technicians to perform both compressor and PT6 fuel nozzle cleaning using a single unit. This integrated system eliminates the need for multiple tools and reduces servicing time. The unit’s pulse-cleaning feature enables the precise application of cleaning fluid and compressed air, effectively removing contaminants without damaging delicate nozzle components.
Operators should never open a fluid tank while it’s under pressure or exceed the 125 PSI maximum air charge. Only demineralized water and cleaning solutions approved by the engine manufacturer should be used. Tronair also emphasizes that all operators must receive proper training and that maintenance and troubleshooting should only be performed by skilled technicians to ensure safe and compliant operation.
Yes. This model complies with the European Machinery Directives 2014/68/EU and 2014/29/EU. It meets the EN ISO 12100:2011 safety standard for machinery design, risk assessment, and risk reduction. This ensures the washer can be used worldwide while meeting stringent safety and environmental regulations.
Before operation, inspect the unit for damage, close all selector valves, and depressurize the tanks. Fill the designated tanks with approved cleaning and rinse fluids, then recharge the air tanks to 125 PSI using shop air. If the unit has been idle, agitate the fluid before use to ensure proper mixing and consistent cleaning performance.
The agitation process utilizes compressed air to evenly mix the cleaning solution. With air tanks charged and the agitation valve set to “AGITATE,” open the air bleed valve on top of the tank and set the regulator to about 30 PSI. Once the solution shows signs of mixing – typically visible through sud formation – close the bleed valve and switch the agitation valve to “WASH” to begin cleaning operations.
Only use clean, demineralized water or engine manufacturer-approved cleaning solutions to prevent mineral buildup and component corrosion. Tronair cautions against using unapproved or contaminated fluids, which can compromise engine performance and damage seals or valves. Always refer to the aircraft or engine maintenance manual for specific fluid recommendations before servicing.
For PT6 engines, the cleaning process involves four main phases: detergent wash, rinse, soak/off, and air dry. Each phase is controlled using selector valves and regulated air and fluid pressures, as indicated in the orientation chart provided in the manual. This cycle ensures the thorough removal of fuel deposits without exposing the vehicle to excessive cleaning chemicals or pressurized air.
After every operation, technicians should depressurize the tanks, flush them with about one gallon of clean water, and rinse all hoses and wands. The output filter should be inspected and cleaned regularly with fresh water, and any worn hoses or seals should be replaced. Proper cleaning after use prevents contamination, extends the life of components, and ensures reliable performance.
Before storage, ensure that the tanks are clean, dry, and completely depressurized. The unit should be stored in a clean, dry area away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. Tronair also recommends cleaning the unit’s exterior before storage to prevent residue buildup and corrosion on fittings and casters.
Yes. The air and fluid tanks should be hydrostatically or pneumatically tested if they show signs of physical damage or as required by local regulations. Additionally, the pressure gauges come with calibration certificates that must be maintained in accordance with the user’s internal quality system. Tronair advises recalibration at regular intervals to ensure measurement accuracy and system safety.
Tronair offers a one-year limited warranty covering manufacturing and material defects, with replacement parts covered under a 90-day warranty from the date of shipment. Any unauthorized modifications or non-OEM parts will void the warranty. In addition to spare parts for the 08T4049-0013 compressor washer, PJi also offers preventative maintenance services and repairs to ensure the unit operates within factory specifications.
