Unit is very well put together, rolls smoothly and is quiet. CGSE kept me informed throughout the process with updates from the manufacture and set up the unit to be painted a different color in the factory to match our company colors.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Question:
Is 50 amps sufficient to support this unit?
Answer:

No, 50 amps is not sufficient to power this ground power unit. The minimum required amperage is 56 amps to ensure proper and reliable operation. Using a power source with only 50 amps may lead to insufficient startup power, underperformance, or even damage to the unit. Always confirm that your electrical supply meets or exceeds the required 56-amp threshold to avoid potential issues during use.

Asked May 9, 2024
Question:
How does the Tronair 112860S0100 improve ground maintenance efficiency?
Answer:

By supplying stable, regulated 28V DC power directly to the aircraft, the unit enables technicians to perform avionics testing, software updates, lighting checks, and other electrical functions without running the engines or using onboard batteries. This reduces engine wear, conserves battery life, and speeds up preflight readiness.

Asked July 17, 2025
Question:
What kind of protection systems are built into the rectifier?
Answer:

The Tronair 112860S0100 includes built-in overvoltage, overcurrent, and short-circuit protection systems. These safety features help prevent damage to both the GPU and the aircraft’s electrical system in the event of a power surge or equipment fault. An internal circuit breaker and reset function offer added peace of mind during operation.

Asked July 17, 2025
Question:
Is the Tronair 112860S0100 easy to move and position near the aircraft?
Answer:

Yes! The rectifier is mounted on a steel towable frame with pneumatic wheels and a steering handle, making it easy to maneuver across hangar floors or ramps. Its compact footprint allows for convenient positioning, even in tight work areas.

Asked July 17, 2025
Question:
Does the rectifier have an easy-to-read display?
Answer:

Yes! The front panel features an analog voltmeter and ammeter for real-time monitoring of output voltage and current. This allows technicians to verify proper electrical delivery and quickly identify any fluctuations.

Asked July 17, 2025
Question:
What type of aircraft connector does the unit use?
Answer:

The unit's output cable features a standard NATO-style single-pin connector, which is widely used in aviation ground support equipment. This makes it compatible with most aircraft requiring a 28V DC GPU connection.

Asked July 17, 2025
Question:
Is the unit safe for use with sensitive avionics?
Answer:

Yes! The GPU is designed to deliver clean, regulated DC power with minimal ripple and voltage fluctuation, helping protect sensitive avionics and onboard electronics during testing or software updates. Built-in filters and voltage control circuitry ensure consistent power quality.
