The Tronair 11-4290-0000 dual AC and DC ground power unit (GPU) remains ahead of the curve with the latest Tier 4 Final emissions-compliant diesel engine. This 90 kVA unit serves as both a 400 Hz AC and 28V DC power source for parked aircraft.
The second output is available providing 28.5V DC power up to 600 amps continuous for aircraft servicing and 2,000 amps peak for starting.
The award-winning Doosan diesel engine comes with an industry-leading three-year warranty and has electronic controls for more precise control over engine performance. This GPU requires no diesel particulate filter, reducing maintenance interval requirements and improving fuel economy.
SCR regulation and RC circuit ripple filtration ensure a finely tuned unit cable operating with the most sensitive aircraft. A large Murphy Digital Controller/Display allows the operator to monitor engine parameters in addition to fault codes. An aircraft end cable interlock circuit alerts the operator to a poorly connected cable. End-of-cable voltage sensing and output voltage-drop compensation ensure full power is provided to the aircraft. A large 35-gallon fuel tank allows for eight or more hours of run time at the rated load.

If the output voltage exceeds a specific value for a certain amount of time, the output contactor(s) that apply voltage to the cable(s) will be disabled. Tronair used MIL-STD-704F to create the overvoltage vs. time curves programmed into these and all other Tronair GPUs.
These fault codes indicate engine/system faults that may have latched from a previous issue. To attempt clearing: acknowledge the fault on the display, then hold the green start button until the engine turns over. If the unit starts and runs normally afterward, test it under load connected to an aircraft. If faults return under load, additional troubleshooting of the engine or control system is required. Always refer to the unit's manual for the specific fault code definitions.
