Quickest Lear towbar head ever that I have received. Ordered a Global 7500 head a week before with the same fast response. It was nice to talk with an actual professional salesperson and have the order placed and on it's way the same day. CGSE will be my first and only call for my next towbar/towbar heads and other GSE equipment needs.

Great for a flyaway kit. Not all FBO's have the tow bar head that you would require, having the flexibility to buy the one just for your aircraft makes all the right sense.

We operate a Citation V and chose this towbar head after borrowing one from the local FBO. I changed the wheels on the bar to adjust the height of the head to match the axle. Now connecting the towbar to the aircraft is effortless. (No more lifting the bar into position to line it up with the axle) I couldn't be happier.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Question:
Can I use this towbar head with any tug?
Answer:

No. It should be used with Category 1 or 2 tugs and aircraft under 75,000 lbs gross weight. Using it outside these specifications risks damage and voids any warranty.

Asked June 19, 2025
Question:
How should the towbar be connected?
Answer:
  • Attach the towbar to the aircraft first, then to the tug to reduce the chance of aircraft damage.

  • Ensure sliding pins are locked in place before towing.

Asked June 19, 2025
Question:
What angle should be maintained while towing?
Answer:

The angle between the tug and towbar must not exceed 90º to prevent contact and possible damage to the aircraft or towbar.

Asked June 19, 2025
Question:
How often should the towbar head be inspected?
Answer:

At a minimum, inspect once a week—more frequently if in regular use or operating in harsh conditions.

Asked June 19, 2025
Question:
What should I do if the shear pin is bent or missing?
Answer:

Immediately remove the unit from service and replace the pin with a Tronair-specified shear pin only. Keeping spares on hand is strongly recommended.
